Q: Does this require adding eggs or can you get away with just adding water? My kid has an egg allergy so wondering if there are any recommended substitutes.
submitted by Anthony S - 4 years ago
A: We use chickpea water in place of eggs in any recipe and you'd never know. 3 Tablespoons of chickpea water from a can is = 1 large egg. Typical can of Chickpeas yields a little more than 3 eggs worth
submitted byLacry - 3 years ago
A: We had a kid with egg allergy and always used applesauce instead of egg. We bought a pack of the individuals and one container worked just fine for a batch of pancakes.

Q: Is this product safe for celiac patients or just for gluten free lifestyle folks.
submitted by love target - 4 years ago
A: It has the certified gluten free label on the front. So safe for Celiac. I have the diagnosis, and always aim to purchase items that have the certified gf label. And always read the ingredients.

Q: Can it be used with only water?
submitted by BJR - 6 years ago
A: Hi, thanks for the question. Our Original baking mix can not be used with only water. For best results, we recommend following the recipe on the box. Thanks.

A: I have used only water to make rolled out/ cookie cutter biscuits. They come out dense, which was desirable in my case. I never made pancakes w/ it.
submitted by3chell - 2 years ago
Q: What ingredients are needed to make these? There is no picture of the directions.
submitted by Bisquit less - 2 years ago
A: Per the Betty Crocker website, you'll need bisquick, milk, vegetable oil, & egg to make pancakes or waffles. To make biscuits, omit the egg.
submitted byChocoholic - 2 years ago
Q: There's pictured of the top and bottom, front of the box but not the back where the recipe directions are. That's pretty useless! Are they're directions for muffins? What's needed?
submitted by Mum23 - 3 years ago
A: I had the same frustration. There's no recipe for muffins on the box, but the Betty Crocker website has several Bisquick muffin recipes.
submitted byChocoholic - 2 years ago
Q: Does this contain any partially hydrogenated oil?
submitted by Greeny - 4 years ago
A: General Mills has fully eliminated partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs) from our U.S. products.

Q: The box doesn't say "contains milk" yet the reviews say it now contains milk. Which is correct?
submitted by JessB - 5 years ago
A: In the fall of 2020, we started producing the 96oz Club Bisquick (16000-43059) product at an alternate production location to support increased product demand. This resulted in a change of allergens for the 96oz Club Bisquick. However, the 40oz box did not go through any changes in the potential allergens.
Since ingredients can sometimes change, we recommend referring directly to the packaging for the most accurate information.

Q: What else can you make with bisquick, and you should show the list of things with directions on the box.Yrs ago there was a resepie for a nice 9"x9" cake,I don't see that now.It was very light, and good
The product has been a long-time favorite for many guests, especially for making pancakes, waffles, and biscuits. While some guests appreciate the nostalgic taste and versatility, others express disappointment with recent changes to the recipe, affecting texture and flavor. Despite mixed reviews, many guests still find it a reliable option for quick meals and enjoy experimenting with various recipes. It remains a staple in many households for its ease of use and variety of applications.

This mix is what I grew up on as a kid and have been using it to make waffles for my kids like my dad once made for me. Really upset I am not able to purchase anymore. Will you be bringing this item back?

Best GF mix out there!
For those of us who have been GF for a long time, this has been out there for a while, but continues to be the best GF, pancake cake and waffle mix available. When I eat it, it sends me into nostalgia, remembering some of my favorite breakfast moments! I would not recommend this if you do not have to eat GF, as regular products are better. However, for those of us with celiac or other issues this is the closest thing to the real pancake mix mixes in taste and texture. My mom bought it years ago for me and I’ve been a happy user since then!

I wanted to liks this so much...
Before I had to go gluten free, I loved the ease of Bisquick for so many quick bakes. I wanted this to be as good as the original. Maybe things will be better to try another recipe, because the pancakes were sad, thin, tasteless. My first trial of GF pancake mix. Next time I’ll try buckwheat for my pancake fix.

Love these pancakes! The kids love them. They are fluffy and have good taste. I like to add strawberries to the batter so make them even better.

Disgusting
Bisquick is awful now. The recipe has changed. If you want your pancakes to taste like a styrofoam plate, I highly recommend this. Otherwise, seek alternatives. Btw, following the new recipe alteration does not help. And these should NOT be allowed to be called the “original” formula. They taste like the cardboard box they’re packaged in.

Love it, but be aware of you are using a gluten recipe, it may require more liquid.
Convenient for coating and baking. Because it is gluten-free, you may need more liquid than usual because it absorbs liquid.

General Mills changed Bisquick
See the picture where I baked two batches and see the difference in how they turned out. I have been using Bisquick for over 50 years. I usually make pancakes and biscuits with it. For the last year or two it has been changed and now my biscuits and pancakes are flat and dense and yucky. I tried adding 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda to my mix and it makes a world of difference. See picture where I forgot to add the baking soda and they were flat and dense. So while the oven was still hot I mixed a batch with the baking soda which in the picture have risen nicely and tasted like they are supposed to taste. The flat ones were not edible. This was a conscious decision by the manufacturer to make money by eliminating something in the ingredients. I imagine Bisquick will be discontinued because the quality is so bad now. Although if you are like me and loved the old Bisquick you can add baking soda and regain the old quality. Such a simple fix and they are too dumb to make it.

Tastes weird and sandy texture
I accidentally bought this gluten free version when I did a target order. My plan was to make a blueberry cobbler. Thought what the heck and made it anyway with this gluten free bisquick. Horrible! It had this weird sandy texture to it. Even my love for blueberries couldn't save it. I tossed the whole thing in the garbage.

Gluten Free Pancakes
Easy gluten free pancakes and waffles. The kids enjoyed them. I also love to use this for easy biscuits and hamburger casserole.
