Bisquick Original Pancake and Baking Mix - 40oz

Really disappointed. Definitely NOT an improvement. Couldn't finish my first pancake. Should give consumers a heads up about ingredient changes

Wow, what the heck happened? I bought a box over the last weekend and made my usual Bisquick biscuits and homemade sausage gravy. The biscuits came out of the oven and dished out. The biscuits were all like hockey pucks! Heavy, dense, and hard! I was very embarrassed because my family couldn't eat it. Those were NOT the Bisquick biscuits I've known and baked for years! What happened? Whatever you've changed, please, undo it and bring back the original!

They definately changed it. It no longer works with old recipes. Taste is off. Like many others, I bought a second box thinking it was simply a bad box. Nope. After 60 years of using it for pancakes and biscuits and numerous desserts from 1970s cook book, I am now moving on to something else.

I am SO disappointed in the recent change to Bisquick's ingredients. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I didn't realize they'd changed until I made the usual drop biscuits from memory (decades of frequent use!) and they came out rock hard, dense, and no browning whatsoever. Those "biscuits" would have been something like seafaring hardtack. It was embarrassing, frustrating, and inedible. I thought I had a bad batch of Bisquick so threw it out and opened a new box the following week. Same horrid result! Checked the back. I can't use this quickly anymore! I have to know tinker around, add more ingredients, and find what works for ALL of my many recipes that call for Bisquick: how am I going to do my quick, wonderful holiday sausage balls and have them turn out right?! Can't do fast drop dumplings anymore. Pancakes? Scones? Coffee cake? Cobbler? Fried chicken? No way! I wouldn't attempt waffles with this either. Bisquick used to be a fantastic, flavorful, fast, simple, and RELIABLE product for many DECADES! Now it is neither biscuit nor quick. If I'd wanted to use bread flour, I'd use bread flour. Please, please, please bring back the usual product!

I loved this product for my pancakes since I was a kid. They changed the recipe and now the pancakes are fluffy and come out like rubber. Switching product now

Please bring back the original Bisquick formula! The 2024 version is awful!

The success of the Bisquick label is due to the actual and dependable Bisquick recipe that has been a cornerstone staple for home cooks across the country for DECADES. There are entire cookbooks based on Bisquick- this is not something that should happen to change! As others have stated- for GENERATIONS, families have shared countless tried-and-true recipes that rely on the original Bisquick ingredients in proper proportion. As they have also mentioned, decades of family traditions have been ruined by your alterations. Everyone knows that baking is a science, and the smallest tweaks can have great impact. We’ll see how your tweaks impact your bottom line over time. You need to bring back the trusted recipe, and announce that your product will yield good results, as it currently FAILS to deliver and is destroying a century-old reputation.

This used to be a staple in my household and then it started making terrible pancakes and I couldn't figure out why. Now I see that the whole recipe is different now and you have to add oil, baking powder, extra eggs??? Why would you change it! It was perfect before 😭 Not to mention all of the recipes I have that use Bisquick will all have to be reworked now

Why would you make a plastic container that it has a couple uses? It is literally the most wasteful thing I have ever seen and you should be ashamed. Everyone knows in the United States recycling is a joke and most of it just goes in the trash, into the oceans. Stick to the boxes, know your place!

Waffles are now chewy and not the deliciousness of before. I came online to figure out why, and it looks like cuts to ingredients have been made. So sad.

can i substitute almond milk for whole milk for my pancakes?

Like others, I was thinking I was doing something wrong. In a short amount of time, Bisquick has gone from wonderful to awful. I'm gonna look for an alternative.

I'm a lifer with this one. 60 yrs. A suggestion, please. Put amount of buttermilk for milk. This k you ❣️

What happened to bisquick? I've used bisquick for pancakes and more for as long as I can remember. I am 72. Recently, I finished a box I had for a short time and the pancakes were great as usual. Bought New box and it's horrible. Thought my husband made batter wrong so I threw it out and remixed myself. Same result. Thin batter, flat pancakes and tastes awful!

ZERO STARS if I could. Why did you change the Bisquick formula? Waffles are dense - no longer light and crispy. No one buys Bisquick to be healthy. We buy it because it makes a delicious pancake or waffle. No more. I just tried another box thinking I would give it one more try. It’s going in the trash. TERRIBLE!

Bisquick was the taste of my childhood, and I would have bought it forever…. But then they changed it. Pancakes made with the new Bisquick do not taste good.. I’ve tried a couple of competitors, and I’m settling on homemade, which is not hard. I like Ina Garden’s Buttermilk pancakes (https://inagarteneats.com/ina-garten-buttermilk-pancakes/). A sad case of someone tinkering with a beloved product, and wrecking it.

Have bought several boxes of Bisquick recently thinking something was wrong because pancake recipe is no longer desirable. We have thrown away dozens of pancakes due to taste and texture. I guess they are making a ton of money on everybody buying multiple boxes thinking something was wrong with previous one. We for one, are looking at other options because Bisquick will no longer be in our pantry. Everybody will find or make a new favorite and Bisquick will learn the hard way not to change their ever so popular recipe.

Awful. Have been using Bisquick to make quick and simple biscuits for years, but just bought a new box and the biscuits were dry, flat, and SALTY. Gross! Came online to figure out what was going on and apparently they changed the ingredients. Won't be buying this anymore. Not sure how they can advertise it as "Original Bisquick" when it's clearly not the original.

I might be late to the game here, but I just realized that bisquick's formulary had changed! I have a recipe book that I've been using from YEARS (copyright 2000) and none of them are valid anymore! I'm upset but can say this seems to happen to me a lot! why can't we go back to the old formula...
