Q: Can it be used with only water?

submitted by BJR - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for the question. Our Original baking mix can not be used with only water. For best results, we recommend following the recipe on the box. Thanks.

submitted byPublished by General Mills - 4 years ago

  • A: I have used only water to make rolled out/ cookie cutter biscuits. They come out dense, which was desirable in my case. I never made pancakes w/ it.

    submitted by3chell - 8 months ago

Q: What ingredients are needed to make these? There is no picture of the directions.

submitted by Bisquit less - 9 months ago
  • A: Per the Betty Crocker website, you'll need bisquick, milk, vegetable oil, & egg to make pancakes or waffles. To make biscuits, omit the egg.

submitted byChocoholic - 7 months ago

Q: There's pictured of the top and bottom, front of the box but not the back where the recipe directions are. That's pretty useless! Are they're directions for muffins? What's needed?

submitted by Mum23 - 2 years ago
  • A: I had the same frustration. There's no recipe for muffins on the box, but the Betty Crocker website has several Bisquick muffin recipes.

submitted byChocoholic - 7 months ago

Q: Does this contain any partially hydrogenated oil?

submitted by Greeny - 2 years ago
  • A: General Mills has fully eliminated partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs) from our U.S. products.

Q: The box doesn't say "contains milk" yet the reviews say it now contains milk. Which is correct?

submitted by JessB - 4 years ago
  • A: In the fall of 2020, we started producing the 96oz Club Bisquick (16000-43059) product at an alternate production location to support increased product demand. This resulted in a change of allergens for the 96oz Club Bisquick. However, the 40oz box did not go through any changes in the potential allergens. Since ingredients can sometimes change, we recommend referring directly to the packaging for the most accurate information.

My family has been using Bisquick for generations for biscuits, pancakes, and waffles. The new recipe is terrible. Biscuits, pancakes, and waffles have a weird texture and it is not the same. It’s so sad to see a tradition end.

For the last few years, I thought it was me, now I find out they have changed the formula!!! WHY?? The strawberry shortcake biscuits used to be sooo good and now they are gummy inside. Why can't companies leave a good thing alone. Now that I know it's not me or my oven.........I won't buy Bisquick again. I'll come up with something else.

I’ve used Bisquik for years and it has consistently given me amazing pancakes. The last few times they came out flat and gummy. I thought it was me but I finally realized that I wasn’t doing anything wrong, the product has changed.

I went through a couple of boxes thinking that the new weird taste and lack of fluffing was just me or my fault. But it seems that it's not me and the blend has changed. Not sure why but we deserve and explanation. If it was to make it more profitable then out the recipe back and charge more. You will make more money because there are a lot of people including me that will not be buying at all anymore. Can't make money with no customers.

I have used Bisquick for too many years making pancakes, biscuits, and strawberry shortcake in a 13 X 9 cake pan using the recipe on the box a few years ago I noticed that it didn’t rise or fill the entire pan as it used to! So I doubled the recipe and still same barely fill the pan spreading it out and still wouldn’t rise and taste was off. I searched the net figuring I was doing something wrong, on your web site states you might be mixing it too long or not enough- - REALLY! Now tonight I made some strawberry shortcake and my husband and I both agree TRASH! Found the same as everyone else has found on way too many web sites complaining about your product change. If it’s not broke don’t try to fix it!!!!!!!! Pull our heads out your backend!

Hadn’t been able to figure out why my pancakes were so bland, dry and tasteless the last few boxes. Went to make some biscuits, double checked the box for quantity, because I only needed to make half a batch. What? Add Oil? I’ve never done that before. Searched online and discovered an explosion of complaints on many many websites, from Reddit to cooking sites, that Bisquick has changed its old reliable formula. No wonder the last few batches of biscuits and pancakes have been so bad. No problem. I already switched to Kodiak for pancakes, and I can easily make biscuits from scratch. Bisquick was simply a convenience. I’ll miss the classic coffee cake recipe, though. And will have to try something else for dumplings. Did you guys learn nothing from New Coke?

Made pancakes this morning using a new box of Bisquick which has always been my favorite. Noticed it looked way too white than it used to, absolutely hated the flavor. You really need to go back to the last mix. I will stop buying once this box is gone!! Ugh!!!

I’m not sure what you have done to the Bisquick mix. I used to love pancakes and dumplings made from your product. The last few times I made pancakes and or dumplings they were terrible. Pancakes did not rise and had no taste. The dumplings were not fluffy and they also had no taste. I’m not sure what you did, but it was not a good idea. I won’t be buying Bisquick anymore sadly.

I hadn't had Bisquick pancakes in years and I bought some and made myself some pancakes. These are flat tasting and have no zing on my taste buds. I won't buy any more. These taste just like every other boring pancake. Nothing like when I was a little girl. Bisquick was special back in the 60's. It was the absolute best then!

Why change a formula that was loved by so many? I won't make biscuits ever again with the new Bisquick. Three batches made with the new formula and its three strikes and you're out. Biscuits made with the with the new formula mix lack the flavor and texture that was previously the reason I have been a lifelong consumer of Bisquick, not any more. Please bring back the previous formula!

Doesn't taste like bisquick anymore. Using the new pancake recipe with oil is so bad I threw them away. Leaving out the oil improves the end result, but still isn't good. Bisquick was a unique product that was the only pancake I would eat. Used to love to drop biscuits as well. Won't be purchasing bisquick unless they bring back their old product.
