A: Yes, the Black and decker BHFEA520J can be used on a tile floor, however you might not get the same results as you would using it on a hardwood surface or on linoleum flooring. Most tile is raised and getting to the grout may require extra effort.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, there is a light. Why is this the first time I've used a vacuum with this feature? It really helps see what's happening down on the floor, and is especially helpful on hardwood. I use this on hardwood, tile, rugs, and carpet, and it effortlessly sucks up the dirt on all of them. The Autosense technology is no joke. This machine knows just when extra power is needed and kicks it up at the right times. It's so lightweight and easy to maneuver that I was able to use it without any trouble even after I had surgery. And for that same reason, I've never had an easier time getting the kids to help vacuuming. Emptying it is super simple too. The dirt comes out cleanly and doesn't make a dusty mess. I generally use it for 30-35 minutes at a time, and the charge lasts at least that long, which I think is good for a cordless. My only complaint is that the crevice tool doesn't attach or go anywhere. I like that it's included, and I use it all the time, I just feel like I'm going to end up misplacing it.

I love this vacuum ... mostly. It works perfect for what I wanted it for. Long hallway, with 3 kitty litter boxes and I wanted something lightweight that I could grab to clean-up when the cats kick litter out of the box. I bought it June 24th, 2025 and last night, July 7th, 2025, the left wheel fell off. I can't see anything wrong and after looking it over, I snapped it back on. It felt secure, and I began to vacuum again ... and it fell off again. What am I missing. I don't want to take it back if I can get the wheel to stay on!
No brush attachment. Very poor.

I like the light weight cordless feature but the battery only lasts 10-15 minutes once you have reached 6 months of use. The material is very cheap so make sure you detach the roller and clean all the parts on the inside including the brush and plastic rotators that attach to it. I have used mine for 9 months and the roller stopped spinning. I had to order parts and realized the plastic rotator had melted onto the brush. It was a lot of work repairing it and I’m sure it won’t last long. Vacuum is not worth buying.

Was great for 3 months. Then the brush stopped spinning. I’ve had it for little over a year and a half and it doesn’t even pick up dirt in the kitchen. The LED lights only stay on if the brush is taken off, which means it REALLY doesn’t pick anything up. Forget about the carpet; I have to use a completely different vacuum for that. Its only good use is the dustbuster, but if that’s what I wanted I would have just bought that. Battery life is decent but if I can’t use it for its purpose then the battery life doesn’t serve me much. Very disappointed.

The vacuum charges fast too and it lasts quite a while without needing a charge. The amount of dirt the canister can hold is a lot too. And the suction is actually really good! It picks up so much. I think all vacuums need this because the "invisible" dust and dirt get luminated so I am less likely to miss something. It is self-standing. I've had stick vacs in the past and it gets annoying whenever I need to pause and find a place to lean it against in the middle of cleaning. This one stays in place (most of the time). It is great with hardwood and rugs, but it was wanting to tip over on more plush carpet. It picks up dirt and debris well and I like that it has autosense so it will automatically adjust power based on being on carpet or hardwood/tile. You can also adjust the power yourself if needed for an extra boost. I like that it can also become a handheld and really get into spots a big vacuum can't. The only thing I would really like to see improved is that it comes with a crevice tool, but there is no on-board slot to store it when not in use. It would be really easy to add on and I will probably use a hook-and-loop fastener to attach it to the vac body so it doesn't get lost.

It is lightweight so my arm doesn’t get tired vacuuming and I am able to use it for short bursts on quick messes, and also longer uses when doing the stairs or even a whole room! It has plenty of battery to finish a couple rooms, and charges back up to full power fast- it has always been ready when I need it, so the convenience of having it charged and ready has been great with kids and a dog underfoot! The only thing I don’t love is how to empty the bin- it’s a slightly tedious process compared to other stick vacuums I’ve had that just have a quick release button- I felt like this one gave me more of a chance to touch dirty stuff- but it emptied fully and it really wasn’t a big deal since I wash my hands after anyway. Overall a great vacuum I use frequently and recommend for a family needing something convenient and at the ready!

The charger area is clumsily placed at the end of the handle and thus gets bumped around a lot by touch or by other items nearby. The dirt container is difficult to empty as you must remove the inside piece to dump and thus some dirt escapes due to touch and may fall to floor or dustify the air. My favorite part is the ease of turning and the ability to change power level.

I have primarily hardwood floors but do have several rugs and this works perfectly for cleaning both. The fact that it is able to be made into a handheld vac is so convenient for cleaning areas such as my stairs. It is also a powerful unit for cleaning the car. It's light weight, cordless and the ability to switch to hand held makes it so multifunctional.

I have a previous model of this stick vacuum and it isn't as powerful as this one. I was excited to receive this because the previous model had a removable battery and I was hoping I could use the old battery as a backup. Unfortunately for me, they've changed to have a built in battery so it is not compatible. I can see this being a benefit as you can just plug the charger directly into the vacuum instead of needing to remove it, but I dislike that I'll now need to wait for the battery to charge if it runs out. The other change from my old one is that it is more stable in the upright position which makes it a lot more stable. I love that the vacuum is lightweight enough for my kids to use it. I love to use this vacuum for everyday clean up in our kitchen as well as for quick messes.

It's so easy to use my 9 year old vacuumed our whole living room. You just plug the plug right into the vacuum when your ready to charge it and it charges up in a timely manner. It sucked so much dirt out of our carpet that we was so shocked something so small worked so well. We did have to empty it alot because the place that holds the dirt isnt that big but we was ok with that.
