I am a 75 year old woman and love the trimmer. It is ergonomically correct for my height, 5’6” and I use it almost daily. It permits me to create and maintain the many curves defining my10 acres in the Pacific Northwest. In my recent purchase I bought two 12” trimmers so I can do more work in one day without overworking one trimmer.

The battery life stinks, only 10 minutes! I have Battery from 2016 that is only a 1.5 AmpH that last longer! The 2.0 AmpH you sent with it stinks! Love the weed eater! This is our 2nd one. First one lasted 8 years and stopped feeding line.

So many things I hate about this: 1 - The head does not rotate so you have to flip it over to edge. Very awkward with the trigger and safety button (I pinch my finger EVREY time). 2 - Some engineer decided adding a wheel would be good. It is not. It is in the way and serves little purpose. It does come off. 3 - They added an "Easy Feed" button instead of the head bouncing that every other trimmer uses just fine. As you might guess 'Easy' means it does not work well at all. 4 - It is too short. It would work for my wife who is under 5'3" but I'd never make her use the junk. 5 - The line that came with it is worthless. I replaced it with some decent stuff and, after removing the wheel, it works OK. I've got a tiny yard so I thought this might work but it just doesn't do the job at all. I'll eventually replace it but won't give it away. I'll break it up and throw it in the trash rather than make anyone else use it. Even if they get it free it is not worth the money. The only good thing is it shares a battery with the B&W blower I got (which is also not that good). Spend a bit more money and get ANYTHING else.

This has been the best trimmer/edger yet. It did take us a couple times to get used to using, but now we love it! Great quality and stood up to a full day of trimming and edging our large yard. We did purchase a second battery and recommend that if you do have a large yard. My husband doesn’t use out edger since this one does a better job.

... I still have to work hard at maintaining my 5 acres. The 20V Max is light and easy on my back. It won't cut the really thick, knee-high weeds like my heavy duty gas-burner, but my expectation of a lightweight, cordless trimmer were reasonable, and I was pleasantly surprised! Its ability to cut light to medium under growth is actually quite impressive. The battery holds up better than I expected, too. Power setting #1 is typically enough. But if I do get into a little heavier stuff, #2 is a significant power boost. Probably gonna buy another one for my better half! (I hope she doesn't see this review! ;-)

Look! battery life has nothing to do with the trimmer and it is an issue across the whole industry due to greed. Like ink jet printers, they are dirt cheap but manufactures strain your budget through the price of ink cartridges. 1.5AH or 2.AH batteries deliver what they are designed for. If you need more power and longer use of the battery then upgrade the battery to at least 4Ah. Based on my experience using a battery with higher amperage can still be used with this trimmer. I go through two 4Ah batteries trimming and edging my 0.5 acres with many detailed areas. The trimmer does what it is supposed to do with its light weight and guide wheel. Oh BTW don't spend the fortune on OEM batteries but you can find after market batteries for portion of the OEM price. I had two that Lasted me more than two years.

mechanically it's fine, battery life is fine. But the nomer "easy feed" is a joke. EVERY TIME the line breaks I have to manually take it apart and re-thread the line. And that happens about every two minutes. And I'm talking about factory spools, not a hand wind. Very frustrating. You can't get anything done.

I bought the trimmer for ease of use. And due to it being lightweight. The main reason was the guide wheel on the body of the trimmer. It allows a nice guided straight line when edging. The product was a little over 2 years old when. One day it just quit working . Just out of warranty. Never again will I buy a Black and Decker product.. Absolutely Junk!!!

The motors and batteries are junk , I have purchased 3 due to the edger feature and that’s the only reason-

This trimmer runs for a long time on the battery and is far more powerful than I expected. It's amazingly easy to use. I love it and highly recommend it!!

Have used this B & D Product only once, replace previous unit, which was corded. I like the cordless feature, just seems to me it will use a lot of string. I do not have a large area, finished front of home, edging, and partially finished side of house and fence (about 50 feet and battery was done.....maybe I should return and get a unit with larger battery capability.....charging takes anywhere from two to three hours, really not acceptable. This unit would be great if you have a very, very small footprint and use a rotary push mower. Major plus is the wheel for edging around garden and house, and fence.

Product's oretty good until it breaks. There's a little switch at the bottom of the spool cup that is made of plastic and can easily wear and break off. When that happens it doesn't prevent the line feed from coming out resulting in your whole line to come out. also it's short for a tall purson so you're bent over trying to use it. It is light & easy to use & somewhat powerful for small jobs.

I have never before owned a trimmer. What I love about this one is how easy it is to use - just charge up the battery (which thankfully can be left plugged in 24X7, without adverse impact on battery life), and then attach it to the trimmer when ready to use. The trimmer is powerful, and the ability to adjust it's height, as well as the ability to easily switch it to edging mode are both appreciated by me. Best of all, the string automatically gets discharged as needed. I was also impressed by the safety features, as well detailed instructions. All in all, taking out the weeds in the backyard is now a chore I look forward to. Thanks for making a high quality and attractive product. I hope and expect to get several years of good usage out of it.
