The trimmer offers a powerful performance for tackling tough weeds and grass, making it suitable for various yard sizes. Guests appreciate its lightweight design, which enhances ease of use, especially for those who may struggle with heavier models. However, concerns about the automatic line feed and spool issues have been noted, suggesting that while it excels in power and handling, improvements in the line feeding mechanism could enhance the overall experience.

Doesn’t last
I’ve gone through 2 of these within 4 years. Like the tool for its power but not built durably. Use it on 1/2 acre lot and both times it cracked right at the trigger. Warranty covered the first one but now I’m out of luck. Have a bunch of their products and love the idea of battery sharing but can’t recommend this product.

Great machines
My new WG 183 trimmer is one high torque grass cutter, and I've observed a few online tips for edging and things like that. It is very light and easy to handle, and it makes short work of grass that is five or six inches high and I'm sure it can handle more.

NOT A GOOD SOLUTION
Not effective edging or cutting tall grass and weeds. SPOOL wears out quickly. Stalls out constantly. Does not make a quick clean cut. Takes 3-4 times longer to cut the same area as my Sthil weedeater. NOT a solution for commercial or farm work. To slow.

Hello there! Thank you for sharing your feedback on the WORX WG183 40V 13" String Trimmer. The WG183 is designed as a residential-use tool intended for routine homeowner lawn maintenance, including trimming grass, maintaining lawn edges, and managing light to moderate weed growth around the home. It is not designed or marketed as a commercial-grade trimmer for professional landscaping, large acreage maintenance, farm use, or prolonged heavy-duty vegetation clearing. Applications involving dense overgrowth, thick brush, woody vegetation, large properties, or extended continuous use may exceed the intended use of the product and can affect overall performance, cutting efficiency, and line consumption. For these types of demanding conditions, a higher-powered or professional-grade solution may be more appropriate. When used for edging, line wear can increase, particularly when the cutting line comes into contact with hard surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and fencing. Thick weeds and tall grass may also require multiple passes to achieve the desired results. Operating conditions, vegetation type, and user technique can all impact cutting performance and spool longevity. Thank you for choosing WORX!

Powerful
I’ve had this power share 13” trimmer for nearly two years.. I have personally been doing lawns both professionally and residentially. Only use this around my own home. My advise is is simple to the engineers, design a better system for feeding the line and make it capable of heavier/thicker line. It gets caught inside the dual spool and snaps off repeatedly.

Hello there! Thank you for sharing your experience and review! The WG183 is designed to use a specific line size and spool configuration to provide proper feeding performance. Using heavier or thicker line than the tool is designed for can affect line advancement and increase the likelihood of binding or breakage. If you need further assistance please reach out to us a reviews@positecgroup.com. Your feedback regarding the dual-spool design and line feed mechanism has been noted. Comments about the line catching inside the spool housing and repeatedly snapping off will be shared with the product team for review as part of ongoing product development and evaluation. Thank you for choosing Worx tools!

Bad Feed Design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a number of battery and gas powered weed trimmers. I purchased the Worx because I have a large stock of compatible batteries from other tools. A number of my favorite power tools are from Worx (looking at you miter saw) but this trimmer is not on that list. Cutting power and battery life are good and the weight isn't bad, but the dual feed heads are terrible. I've tried replacement heads and hand loading the spools. Neither will produce a consistent cutting segment of more than two inches in length. I have to manually advance the two strings out to a decent cutting length. The automatic feed does nothing. The trimmer will cut for about eight seconds before a repeat hand feed is required. Needless to say, this tool doesn't get used much anymore. Thankfully, my ancient 25 dollar Ryobi is still functioning.

Hello There! Thank you for sharing your experience and review! We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve. When initially switching on the trimmer, a small length of line is fed out. To feed more line, stop the trimmer completely, then restart, allowing the motor to reach full speed. However, if you would like to provide us with additional feedback regarding your tool, please feel free to email us at worx-reviews@positecgroup.com and we’ll be glad to assist you. Thank you for choosing Worx tools!

Impressive power, remarkably light, Ht
I bought this for my 80th birthday. A tornado knocked down all the trees along our road. The weeds lovedthe light and went crazy. I couldn’t bring myself to starting our cumbersome gas powered trimmer so I bought this, which I would’ve taken back if it didn’t work. It was pretty amazing. Weeds and grasses 3 to 5 feet tall quickly succumbed. When I got into half inch ragweed and poke the line froze up, as is routinely with any trimmer I’ve had. I had bought a spare spool, and put it on without too much trouble, though watch out or you will lose your tension. I cut the worst ones by hand with a pruner and tore through everything else. I can’t get the “after” photo attached, but it’s dramatically different.

Great for the more "mature" aka older person.
I like that it is light weight and just enough power for my needs.
