Q: How does this come apart to clean? How many filters?
A: Just one filter came with the french press. The filter on the bottom unscrews from the filter and two other pieces for easy cleaning.
submitted bySan - 7 years agoA: One mesh filter. The filter comes apart in 2 or 3 pieces (don’t have it in front of me) and it unscrews from the plunger to clean.

Q: how much water can be used with each fill? i'm surprised there are no water markings on the glass to know how high to fill.
A: The ideal fill level for the Brazil French Press is about 1 inch below the top of the carafe, just below the spout. This will align with the bottom of the filter when you reinsert it after filling the carafe with hot water.

Q: How much coffee do you put in? Do you fill it to the black bottom rim? Coffee seems a tad weak.
A: The Bodum recommendation is to use one rounded teaspoon or one Bodum scoop of coarsely ground coffee for every 4oz of water.

Q: What is the difference between the caffettiera and the brazil?
A: The Caffettiera French Press features a stainless-steel outer frame and Chambord style lid while the Brazil French Press features a lightweight design that uses a single piece base and handle that connects to the lid without needing a full carafe frame. They both include a stainless-steel plunger and filter that is precisely fit into a borosilicate glass carafe.

Q: I bought this item recently and upon the second use, when I pushed the plunger down, I saw some coffee grounds float through a gap where the plunger meets the glass since the plunger was a bit dented- is there a way to fix this gap?
A: Please reach out to support@bodum.com for assistance they will be glad to help investigate further and provide a replacement part of deemed necessary.

Q: Can this be kept in a fridge overnight for cold brew?
A: Absolutely! We recommend removing the lid/plunger and covering the carafe with saran wrap to keep the coffee aromas in and keep out any other aromas from your fridge out while your coffee brews overnight. Enjoy!

Q: Can the glass be removed and put in the microwave?
A: We do not recommend placing the carafe in the microwave to re-heat coffee. We recommend pouring the desired coffee into a microwave safe cup or glass and re-heating in that manner.

Q: Is this a thermal carafe? How long does the coffee stay hot in it? (It falls under the thermal category but I don't see it anywhere in the description.)
