Book Synopsis

We all have born ready moments that mark our lives and lead us toward purpose. It's up to us to recognize them so we can become what we are meant to be.

You know those moments in life you can look back on and say, "Everything changed right there"? When a door opened - or closed - or a timely word from a friend shifted your direction? In my family, we call those Born Ready Moments, a phrase made legendary by my John Wayne-loving grandpa.

In Born Ready, I share the moments that shaped not only my softball career, but my whole life. These moments taught me to work hard, find my voice, and, ultimately, led me on a journey to finding my faith. Some moments are mountaintop experiences like living my dream at the Women's College World Series and competing in the Olympics, however many are low seasons marked by insecurity, inadequacy, or brokenness. Looking back, I see how even the hardest moments mattered and brought something important out of me.

Realizing that every moment had a purpose reminded me I'm Born Ready - for the wins and the losses, the rewarding and the hard, because each one has shaped who I am.

Review Quotes

As an integral part of championship teams and creating a championship culture, Aubree's firsthand experience gives her book a rare look at a person motivated to be great, while caring for everyone she came in contact with along the way. Aubree was a great teammate, but an even better friend and person. Her story is a powerful blend of competitive intensity and quiet moments of self-discovery. Her life-and this autobiography-reflects someone who poured her blood, sweat, tears, and heart into everything she did.

Tim Walton

Head Coach, University of Florida Softball

Aubree's story in Born Ready goes far beyond the game. It's about grit, faith, accountability, and learning to rise when it matters most. Whether you're an athlete or simply navigating life's challenges, this book will inspire you to see every moment as preparation for all that God has in store for you.

Jennie Finch

Olympic Gold Medalist

I've known Aubree for a long time, both on and off the softball field, and this book is a representation of EVERYTHING she is and the things that she values. This book is an inside look at the innermost workings of someone who made it to the top of the top, and how so many different factors led her to what she's accomplished and where she is in her life. When you read Aubree's story, you'll feel inspired to look for Born Ready moments in your own life and find the courage to take the leap and go for your wildest dreams!

Sam Fischer

Teammate & Friend

Born Ready reminded me of my journey as a catcher, the impact my grandfather had in my life, and how God has been with me every step of the way. Aubree writes with humility and vulnerability, sharing both her fears and accomplishments from early years all the way to the biggest stage sports has to offer in a way that feels honest and deeply relatable. Reading this, I'm filled with gratitude for the people God placed along my journey and for His beautiful timing in all of my Born Ready moments. Most importantly, Aubree's love for Jesus is contagious and pushes me closer to Him.
