Q: Do you need to connect a cord to your tv to use this or can you connect wirelessly to your tv? I don’t want to waste money buying it if I have to use cords for it to connect to the tv. My current Samsung sound bar connect to my tv wirelessly thru WiFi

  • A: Yes, the Smart Soundbar should be connected to your TV via HDMI-eARC (i.e. HDMI cable), or via optical cable. This is to enable you to enjoy the high-quality Dolby Atmos sound. The soundbar can be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth (not Wi-Fi) to your TV if your TV matches the soundbar's Bluetooth specs, however this is not the intended setup, and you wouldn't hear Dolby Atmos surround sound this way.

    Good but not as good as should be

    Having bought Bose products for the last 17 years I’ve found the sound to be the exceptional quality as the name has always been. However, the connectivity and reliability of connectivity is something Bose cannot get right when it comes to WiFi. Today I left the house with wife at home, the Spotify played from a few hours earlier and the unit would not turn off when my wife pressed the button to turn it off. The usual sound played but it just would not turn off. I actually drove home to try and connect the app but it wouldn’t connect as didn’t see the WiFi. So it somehow needed the WiFi to turn itself off? In the end the only way I could stop it playing was to remove the mains plug.. I cannot believe in 2025 still cannot get the WiFi part of technology right.. I also find the volume slide not very smooth in adjustment and sometimes jumping to high volume, something that was a problem in the past..

    Problem

    Still having problems programming my soundbar with my Direct TV remote. I can get everything to work except the soundbar will not turn on with the tv.

    Bose sound bar

    Great sound but had issues with sound hoing on and off in end could not get sound on the soundbar coukd do with hit more lighting on it as its bit dim..but sad I had to return it asninlije bose a lot.remote a bit flimsy as small and could do with better remote.

    Buyer Beware Great Item, Awful reliability.

    Product is amazing sound quality wise. It however does not work. When it works it's fantastic, but at this point I have sent it back three separate times for repair and none of the fixes has stuck for more than a couple of days. (The support line has actually been super helpful, no notes on them.) It's possible I just got a faulty model, but I cannot in good faith recommend this product with my experience.

    Amazing upgrade

    I got the smart sound bar for my 40th birthday off my wife. I've had bose products for a long time. And I had the old acoustimass system for a VERY long time and its was perfect and never showed its ages and I must say bose is the cream as far as im concerned. Keep it up BOSE

    very disappointed

    The app does not work on my google phone. before I even enter my wifi password the enter button is over written by enter manually. it will not hook up as bluetooth either. I finally got it to hook up to the internet working it manually and it said activation failed. I am done. you would think a company as big as bose could figure it out. I am sending it back to bose.

    Disappointed

    Can’t make it work with with my LG Smart television. Very frustrating. I am a Bose fan historically. Perhaps it is just me/

    Great but not perfect.

    Came, (eventually),really well packed, quality equipment. All set up,all good,but not being able to turn off the 'truspace' was the deal breaker. Excellent returns experience with a very quick refund. Would undoubtedly be my first choice if the 'truspace' was switchable.

    Great value and great sound

    I had the Bose solo 5 and was apprehensive about upgrading to the Bose smart speaker but the sound is very good and the voice clarity is great. Also the benefit of Alexa which is a doodle to set up. Thanks Bose

    Great sound, as always.

    I've both this about a month ago, and the base in its self is very impressive. Also, having the Alexa functionality makes this product a regular use.

    Wonderful sound

    Great sound bar and easy hookup. However, I need a sound bar with an opitical out connection not the optical in one. I use My Starkey app with Genius 24 hearing aids for streaming and I can’t not stream with this sound bar to my aids. Unfortunately I will have to return.

    POOR Help!!

    I purchased the Sound Bar and Base 500 units. VERY POOR instructions!!!!!I downloaded app and for 2 weeks tried to sync. Finally I went on to the live chat, which took forever, and the agent spent over 1/2 hour trying this and that. I almost hung upd was going to send back this junk. Everyone told me to buy Trivoli instead. I did not listen, what a mistake!!!!! I still don't know if it is wireless!!!!
