Description
Bumkins Chewtensils® are intended for Stage 1 of baby-led weaning—for babies beginning to practice feeding themselves by holding utensils. The food-safe silicone is safe for teething babies. The fork and spoon are made from soft, textured silicone that’s easy to grip and gentle on tender gums, with bendable heads for safety. The back of the spoon head has sensory bumps to stimulate gums. Weighted, textured handles allow little ones to hold while they begin to practice eating by themselves. Bumkins Chewtensils are best for practicing dipping and scooping, not yet piercing solid foods.

I love these easy to hold utensils. My 9 month old immediately knew what to do with the spoon. She fed herself yogurt last night and I’m just so impressed with the design for ease of holding, manipulating to get into the mouth and the shape for eating from. I’ll be ordering more!
Must buy!

So They Are Great For Chewing On/teething. Self Feeding = Fail. You Can't Actually Pick Anything Up With The Fork. The Spoon Is A Little Thick So Once They Have Something On It, Getting It In The Mouth With Their Food Doesn't Fit.
Love them!

Amazing! I love how these help avoid self-choking while my baby learns to feed himself.

I was excited for these, but my little one doesn’t like them because she can’t figure out how to hold it. It also makes a mess when you try to scoop anything out of the baby food containers unless you just opened it.
Perfect for littles learning to eat!!!

I love these chewtensils. My ten month old son figured it out real quick and makes eating his meals lots of fun. They are easy for him to grib and i don’t have to worry about him poking himself because of the silicone is so soft yet firm enough to pick up food. Perfect for me little guy!

I’m trying to encourage my daughter to use these while eating. She is nine months and she likes the little fork a lot tries to pick up stuff. Unfortunately she can’t seem to figure out the spoon and keeps turning it upside down dipping the ball part into her food and licking it and the fork doesn’t really pick anything up other than spaghetti ‍♀️
I reeeeallly wanted to love it

It just didn't work for us, the fork prongs just bent when my little one tried to poke food with it, he kept getting so frustrated. I thought the silicone would be so awesome but it just doesn't work. The spoon is OK but can really only be used for dipping not as a regular spoon.
Perfect toddler flatware!

My daughter loves her new fork and spoon! They are not only her favorite color but easy for her to grip and I love how easy they are to wash. Great set!
Easy grip and pacifier shield prevents gagging.

Perfect for little hands and the pacifier-like shield prevents baby from gagging themselves as they bite the crap out of these things. I dip it in baby food while I'm feeding baby so baby can self feed in between Mama feeding. Sometimes baby doesn't want food I'm passing by the spoon in my hand but lo and behold, the same food on baby's spoon is so much more delicious since they can feed themselves.
Fine Teething Toy But Not So Much For Infant Self-Feeding

This fork and spoon set is super cute, but I have found to be less practical for my 10 month old to actually use. They are the tiniest set I have come across and I was curious. They are about 40% shorter than the other standard utensils on the market (pictured against 2 other brands). I make all of our baby's food (steam & puree, cube & steam, cooked foods, etc.), and did not find that these utensils actually hold the food very well, especially once you guide your infant's hand-to-mouth gesture. The bulkiness was not practical for our baby to fit this and the food into his mouth (and he is on the top end of height and head size for his age, he is not a petite baby and does not have small features). I do not recommend these for these uses: - stabbing cubed foods - this fork can't - teaching/guiding your infant's hand-to-mouth motion - the eating ends are bulkier than standard metal and hard plastic utensils, making it harder for baby to take the bite of food, and the handle is very short making it hard to help baby hold the utensil and then for you hold it to guide their hand - holding / balancing food on the utensil for actual eating - it's easier for baby to fling the food off of these than anything else - if your baby is more interested in actually eating food than chewing on a teether or playing during mealtimes I have found the Munchkin and Oxo utensil sets to work much better for our 10/11 month old, who wanted to dive right into actually feeding and eating the food by himself, which he's largely doing now. If you are really just looking for something for you baby to chew on and hold during mealtimes than actually practicing self-feeding, then this set will be fine for you. The quality is fine, and I have other Bumkins products that we really value and use regularly, but these utensils did not do the trick for our eager-to-self-feed baby. Every baby is different. I am expecting another child in about 4 months and will hold onto these to see how the new baby takes to them, and try them at a slightly earlier age.

This is a lovely cutlery set for an early feeder. I love the blue handles and think the color quite appealing. Actually, this durable fork and spoon is better suited for a toddler who is mastering self feeding. The wide blue handle on the fork and spoon make for easy management for young hands to use.

These utensils are cute and easy to use. The handle is good for small hands and the material is softer than another brand we tried.

Purchased for our 8mo old, she loves being able to hold her own utensils, even though she hasn’t figured out how to actually feed herself. These are doubling as teethers and feeders.
Decent but needs better gripping

I thoughts this silverware was well made in terms of sturdiness and durability. They were easy to clean in warm water. They need better gripping material. My toddler kept dropping them because they were slipping out of his hands. It’s unfortunate because other than that it’s a well made product.
