Q: I have 3b - 3c hair and it tends to get dry with every leave in I use, Will this work with my textured dry hair ? I’m a little scared that honey will make my hair even dryer.

submitted by Dr1 - 4 years ago
  • A: Honey Hydrate will absolutely work on your texture. The key to using Honey Hydrate is to use it on wet hair and keep in mind that a very little goes a long way. The ingredient, Honey, is one of the best moisturizers around because it is naturally a humectant which helps to attract and retain moisture.

Q: Will it aid in hair growth?

submitted by Sue - 5 years ago
  • A: No, this is a leave=in hair conditioner. Not a hair growth product.

Changed formula. Honey is not the main ingrediant.

Disappointed - 20 days ago, Verified purchaser
Camille Rose changed it's ingredients and honey is no longer the main ingredient as it was in the previous bottle design. It's now the 12th ingredient instead of the 3rd. Please correct what you are saying as it is misleading to say it's the "main" ingredient. Quality has changed. Makes hair soft but" wirey". I would rather pay more for the old recipe.

This is actually the first product where I’ve seen the results happen so instantly! You would think it would be sticky but it’s not at all in your hair! I like it because it last awhile and you don’t have to keep moisturizing your hair. I don’t have to add oil or use any other product with this one. It minimized my hair routine for the better (: The price is kind of crazy but it works and it’s worth it lol. Overall 10/10! It’s the only one I can rely on (:

Soft as cotton!!

I have read the reviews from other people complaining about the original formula being changed, and I was skeptical about using it. However, since I had already bought it, I figured I would try it for myself I used it for the first time today, and let me tell you, the original formula must have been "the sh*t" because my hair is super moisturized and soft as cotton! I don't think my hair has been this soft in a very long time. I'm very pleased with the results and I'm so glad I bought two bottles. When I run out, I'm buying two more.

We are gathered here today to morn the loss of our dearest Honey Leave In. It has passed on to the other side. But, we will keep those hair moisturizing memories in our hearts and cherish those memories forever. We know tomorrow's formulas aren't promised, so we celebrate them today while they're still here with us. Please bow your curls in a moment of silence. As we move on to a different product, deep down it can never really be replaced. It's just another day in corporate wheel and we WILL get through this. AND I'M GONNA MISS ERRBODY 😢

The new formula and new bottle are a no go. There's no "honey" in the new formula and the new bottle is very difficult to squeeze from the previous shape.

Not for my 2C Wavy Hair

cjs33139 - 1 month ago, Verified purchaser
I personally didn’t like this product in my hair; I have 2C wavy thick and dry hair (I am male and they keep my hair long on top) and it just made my hair really sticky and if anything, it increased the waviness in my hair that I did not like. I am currently using it as a conditioner after shampooing and then rinsing it out.

Bought this a few weeks ago and added to my wash regimen. I used it as suggested and sealed with my green beauty herbal oil. When I took my braids down the next day to finish styling in mini twists, my hair felt very good. Very soft, juicy and shiny. This will be something I repurchase.

Please bring back the old formula. It was literally the only product that was aiding in my hair health & length retention. This new formulation is drying it out faster & causing breakage.

I love this product. Even with the formulation change, it still works well on my hair. I keep at least two bottles on hand at all times. There is a bit of a learning curve. I found that the key to using it is to drench a medium sized (freshly washed and fully detangled) section of hair with water (i love pure aloe juice too), apply a quarter sized amount of the honey leave in, twist up that section and repeat the process all over head until done. Then sit under a heated cap for 30 minutes (or longer). This allows all that goodness to soak into the hair. After that, I go in and apply the honeycomb Curl whip as a "Sealant" to the sections and style as usual. Doing this, I have juicy moisturized hair for days. I love it here!

The moment it touched my hair...

After all the searching to find an amazing leave-in conditioner, I find the honey hydrate leave-in. Paired with a bentonite clay mask before hand - chef's kiss. When I needed a new bottle, what threw me off was the bottle was different. When I put it on my hair, it instantly felt "scratchy" like steel wool. No slip or slide, just weird feeling. The moisture was definitely different and it just wasn't the same. After research, the main ingredient, Honey, which was listed FIRST, was replaced with Propanediol. Not happy at all. Now I'm wearing of continuing any of their other products.

Read the one-star reviews. Your hair has to be severely damaged or genetically resistant for this product to not work. Too, I believe it depends on Hair Type/ Texture. I’m a 3a/ 2c, bleached and silk pressed, and this product alone reinvigorates my hair with a deep light moisture that soaks into my strands. My hair is extremely lustrous after bleaching it, and the sheen is remarkable. I haven’t ever had a product that works t h i s well on reviving my hair after processing it.

I’ve been using this for about two years and have noticed a difference in the product’s effectiveness about 1 year ago. I realized that this is due to the first ingredient being changed from honey to some cheaper chemical substance (this is the case for all the honey leave-ins on the market right now). I’m very disappointed that Camille Rose isn’t being transparent with their formula (the old ingredients list is still up) and that they’re not committed to providing the best-quality ingredients for our hair care needs.

They changed the formula of this product and it is no longer good. This new formula dries out your hair so fast doesn’t leave your hair feeling hydrated nor does it promote the health of the hair. I would recommend going back to the previous formula ):

I barely found out about this product and by the time I did they changed their popular ingredients to some sugar water smh and there's almost no information about it online. Not sure why so much deception is happening if the product is still good stand by it and list the new ingredients instead of the old one.

Im really saddened that this product just won an award. And the company went and changed the formulation without promoting it to the customers that way. It was a core product for me and now I have to find another leave in. Really makes no sense instead of raising the price to complete alienate loyal customers by making a cheaper product. Especially an award winning product. It makes it look like the company is only interested in getting accolades they can post for advertising instead of continuing to produce quality.
