  • A: Probably not, I have to stir it a lot to mix it in milk and ice cream. Sometimes there are still lumps, but it makes a delicious ice cream malt.

    A warning from a friend and then...good luck!

    My partner is thrilled! But rather than using it solely for his/her energy drink, your partner has been making chocolate malted milk shakes with bananas and protein powder. If you are silly enough to believe they are asking for it for a healthy, protein based meal, get that idea out of your head immediately. And stay away from the kitchen as he/she makes it in your blender unless you stupidly ask for a taste. It’s doomsday for you, my friend.

    My secret ingredient

    I use this in several baking recipes as a powerhouse ingredient. Gives my cookies a flavorful, chewy texture, and is the secret magic to Serious Eats’ to-die-for pancake recipe. I’m so glad Target carries it. It stays good for quite a while too. Just keep it away from moisture.

    almost Horlick

    For anyone who's familiar with Horlick's drink mixes, I'd still say Horlicks wins. However, as a much more affordable alternative, I love adding this into my milk or cacao drink. It adds an aromatic subtle sweetness to my favorite milky beverages. I can eat it up straight, too, pouring that powder into my mouth. Ummm, can't have enough of it.

    Tastes good, but doesn’t dissolve well.

    It tastes great. Just like in the ice cream shops. Only negatives are it doesn’t dissolve easily. Even with a lot of stirring, you will get chunks. It is also pricy at almost $5 for 13 ounces. It is nothing but wheat flour with a malt extract flavoring, so not sure why it’s so expensive.
