I used Cetaphil for years until they recently changed the formula. I have true oily, acne prone skin and the new formula felt heavy and caused me to breakout. It didn’t feel like it cleaned anything, even if I was bare face and the only thing on my face was the natural oils from my face. I had been a little excited since I saw they removed the parabens but it was Disappointing and upsetting since I had to desperately find a new face wash right away to not further ruin my skin. I don’t use none of the other Cetaphil items either. If you have skin type like mine, maybe try using the Aveeno sensitive skin cleanser which at least removes excess oils without drying or causing redness and breakouts. Im currently trying that and will try to find something to remove makeup.

Cetaphil has been the saving grace for my face. I had adult-onset scarring acne, and this is the face wash recommended by my dermatologist. Along with other prescription products, in addition to this Cetaphil, my face is smooth and clear. Bought this one for vacation. It is expensive for such a small bottle, which is why I took off one star. Much cheaper to buy in the biggest size available.

I recently tried this product and found that it is not very good for skin that is more combination/oily. It sermed to be too hydrating and made my skin produce more oil. It did work well on the few dry patches. Overall, a few hours after using the product, I felt like I needed another face wash due to the excessive oil.

I’ve used this product for years. I don’t like the new formula. I was hoping with time I would get used to it. But that hasn’t been the case. The new product gums up at the end of the pump, and if it’s in my travel bottle it wants to come out in a clump instead of poring out nicely like the old formula.

So disappointed in the changes made to this! The smell is awful and still lingers after washing off no matter how much your rinse. Also the consistency of it is off. As someone who looks specifically for hypoallergenic soaps because sensitivity to fragrances, this is super disappointing.

My daily go to cleanser for years now. Even after their new and improved formula, I’m grateful my sensitive skin didn’t have a reaction to it like most people have claimed. My skin doesn’t feel completely striped of it’s oils after use and it’s very gentle. I have oily/combination skin so I just need a hydrating moisturizer afterwards.

I’m so so sooo sad! This was my holy grail product forever!! I have sensitive acne prone skin and this used to wash my face perfectly and get off all my makeup. Now the “new and improved” formula is thick, the nozzle gets clogged and it makes me break out. I’m so bummed I have to search for a new cleaner now.

I have been a loyal customer for over 18 years after my dermatologist recommended this product. Ever since the reformulation my skin has been breaking out. I had not changed any other skincare or makeup products. My guess is the niacinimide is what’s breaking me out in the new formula. I tried a niancinimide product a few years ago and also broke out. Please change back to the old formula, or at least have a second face wash without niacinimide.
