Q: Would I be able to use this straightener on the lowest setting of 180 degrees? I've never used a straightener so I don't want to use a high temp.

A: 180 degrees smooth's out my fine, dry shoulder length hair at that setting and even at 240 degrees. If you don't want to go to a higher temp, you don't have to.

Doesn't get very hot. I have alot of hair but thin hair and I have to put it on 400 literally almost the hottest setting for my hair to get flat. It doesn't give the shine my old chi did. It's ok I mean my hairs already straight I just use it for shine and final touches on some wavy parts I have but I can't imagine if you have real curly hair this would take a million years to get it straight. I might return not sure yet.

I bought it on Thursday and went to use it on Saturday and it worked for like 15 minutes and then wouldn’t turn back on. So I immediately returned on Sunday. I’m sad about it because I have a chi that I bought years ago and it’s my favorite flat iron but I cannot find it to save my life so I tried repurchasing one and will just chuck up my losses

I would not recommend because it died after us using 3-4x a week to touch my bangs up. I expected it to last much longer. I’ve had cheap flat irons last forever, so I’m disappointed that a more expensive brand cut out so early on. It did a good job while it worked, but I’m very disappointed with the quality and obviously I’m outside of my return window so I’m just out the money. My mother is a hair stylist so I was taught to take care of and preserve my tools.

I’ve been using Chi hair straighteners for as long as I can remember. I bought this one as a replacement for my last one that I purchased 9 years ago. It heats up super quick, I like the different settings available on the digital feature, and it fits in my hand better than the original one because it’s a little less bulky. Most importantly it leaves my hair feeling silky smooth.

I have super thick, wavy hair. My old cheap flat iron would take me 35-40 minutes to straighten my hair, on the hottest setting, and I would have to do the tiniest sections. This one took me 20 minutes on the lowest heat setting. I can’t believe I’ve been struggling with cheap flat irons my whole life when I could’ve splurged and gotten one like this! If you straighten your hair a lot, do yourself a favor and get it!
