Fed my cats this for YEARS. Over time, I noticed one of my cats in particular was shedding a lot more and having digestive issues. I’m not sure if they changed the formula or not, but I noticed changes in all of my cats after a few months. Splurge if you can to get a better brand.

Not grain free anymore
I started buying this because it used to be grain free. The formula has changed and I did not catch it before dumping it in my cat food container. It now contains oats. As someone who is allergic to all forms of gluten including oats this is just annoying. My cat cannot give me licks because I will break out into hives. I wish this oat fad would take a hike.

I am always so careful when choosing the best quality cat food, this one made the cut. The only thing I noticed is sometimes the pebbles are inconsistent. We received two bags that had really small pebbles and the rest is normal. Not sure if it was just an odd batch, but my cats still liked it.

Urinary tract issues
I used to feed my cats this food until I saw the negative reviews about urinary tract issues. I switched brands right away. However, my foster cats eat this food, and I wanted to respect the owner’s food choice. Yesterday we noticed our foster cat was having accidents, and today he started to pee blood. He has a blockage, and he may need expensive surgery. This foster cat drinks a lot of water and is otherwise healthy. I can’t say for certain this food caused the blockage, but I am certainly switching brands.

Made my animals deathly sick!!!!
SHOULD BE PULLED OFF SHELVES!!! DO NOT BUY!!! My dogs and cats have been on this food for over a year. The last few months I have noticed that my cats are shedding more, and itchy all the time. Then for the past week, they have both been vomiting every single time they eat. Didn’t think much about their food. Then our dog started loosing huge clumps of hair, constantly itching himself so badly that he was bleeding on his belly and lower mouth, he became super lethargic. Finally put two and two together and pulled the food. Within a day, they started to look better and act better. I have read many other stories from others and the makers of Kindful have to know what they’re doing at this point. If we hadn’t changed when we did, I think we would have lost our dog. Do better Kindful!!!

My cats love this food and the ingredients are really good for a lower price BUT I will say they’ve significantly increased the price so I don’t think I’ll continue to buy it as it is now similar to name brand foods in price. If they lowered the price back down it would be my go to again

Can cause urine crystals- please be careful.
Store was out of our cats normal food so we grabbed a small bag just to last them until it was in stock. What a massive mistake, as now two of our boys are facing urine crystals and blockages and we're facing massive vet bills for treatment and now, prescription food. They were fine until being on this for a week, no trace of urine crystals or blockages previously. It's not worth the risk and I'm heartbroken that this may result in further severe issues or even losing both of them entirely.
