My 5YO son has been sick since starting Pre-K constantly. This most recent time was a double ear infection with a cough. We’ve both been exhausted because of lack of sleep due to this coughing. I am a fan of Mucinex but this is all I could find. Did absolutely nothing. Another sleepless night until I go get Mucinex tomorrow.

I don’t like giving my almost 5 year old cough medicine but was desperate because she would not stop coughing and crying, she couldn’t sleep and threw up from the hacking. Gave this to her and in less than 15 minutes she stopped coughing and fell asleep.

I’d take the reviews with a grain of salt because every child is different, and obviously not all have the same cold/virus. I was hesitant because of the reviews, but I went ahead and bought it for my 7 year old anyway. INSTANTLY her cough was next to non-existent. The past two days she coughed ALL DAY & NIGHT. Now, I hear her cough maybe a handful of times within an hour. Praise God I bought this stuff. I hate seeing my baby uncomfortable

I would leave zero stars if at all possible. My son is 4. I gave him three doses (2.5mLs) every 12 hours on the dot and it literally did nothing. In talking to some other Mom’s, approximately 15 (posted a question on social media looking for opinions & experiences, they all said the same, it does nothing. I only purchased because Delsym is approved for 4+ and all other children’s cough medicine is 6+. I urge you to look for and try something else. Sudafed was recommended as the Children’s is approved 4+ as well. I will be returning this & purchasing the Sudafed.

This absolutely did not work for my 4 year old. I’m wondering if it made his cough worse too because I have never heard him cough so much that night. It was awful. No one slept. This product is going back for a refund. It didn’t work for us so that is the review I’m sharing. Hylands Cough and Cough has always worked pretty well but is only effective for about 3-4 hours. I was looking for more long term relief for my little guy.

This stuff made our child have really bad dreams. She would be dreaming and become extremely upset and start kicking. I’m sure it doesn’t affect all children that way, but it was not a good experience for ours.

Ineffective with side effects

My children both had uncomplicated bronchitis and we needed something to help ease the cough after nothing else was helping. We tried this and I regret it. It was completely ineffective with both of them. To make things worse it caused my older daughter to become pale and minimally responsive, we took her in and she was fine but because it was extended release it took her a while to come out of it. We confirmed she was given the proper dosage, on the low end of her weight category. It was very concerning, and just made the fact that it was completely ineffective that much worse. I would not reccomend trying with children.
