Abreva Cream is the only nonprescription cold sore medicine approved by the FDA to shorten healing time. While other products just soothe, Abreva works quickly by penetrating deep into the skin to the source of the spreading virus. Abreva comes in a tube or pump, and uses the same formula for each.
Abreva treats my cold sores faster and more successfully than anything else I've tried, and I have tried many different treatments. My only advice is to buy the tube, NOT the pump. You can not control the amount of Abreva that comes out with the pump, and you end up wasting a lot! I don't mind the expense, because it works! But the pump will not last nearly as long as the tube.
I tend to get cold sores in the cold months so I ALWAYS have my Abreva with me. I'm so sorry to the people who it doesn't work for but for the rest of us, this is our holy grail! Thanks! #LoyalCustomer
I highly recommend Abreva as it works well. However, I do not recommend the "pump" tube of Abreva. You have to push hard for the pump to work. I end up wasting more than I use & the product is expensive.
