Q: Can you cut them in half long ways and still use them?

submitted by Tani - 2 years ago

  • A: I had to cut them in half lengthwise to fit on a thin pictureframe, and it worked. I had a couple temporary, Christmas pictures to hang up, and they stayed up for over a month without any issues.

    Useless now

Quality has tanked. I’ve used for Command Strips for over a decade and there is barely any adhesive on the current strips. I haven’t been able to use them for much, a poster weighing less than 2 pounds ripped off the wall in less than a day.

    Quality gone down

I have been using command strips for at least 7 years. This was my first time buying new strips in two years (my last strips lasted two years and only had to come down since I moved). I can no longer get any of my larger frames to stay on the wall even with five pairs attached and am even worried about the small frames falling. EXTREMELY disappointed in the apparent decrease in quality. Not at all as I last used.

    3 lbs came tumbling down

I used FOUR strips on this 3 lb lightweight mirror. 2 strips that according to 3M should hold 15 lbs each, and 2 strips that should hold 10 lbs each. A total of 50 lbs maximum capacity and 3 lbs brought it crashing down into pieces (that's what's inside of the box pictured next to the frame, all the shattered glass)....just 3 days after hanging. How do you explain that? 3M, a full refund and replacement cost of mirror is in order!

    Great product!

I use these for so many things! Bulletin boards, hanging pictures, dry erase board holders, anything that I don’t want to put a nail in the wall to hang- as long as it’s under the weight limit. Will definitely purchase again.

I used command strips to create 2 large collage walls of picture frames. We are moving and i went to take down the frames. Every single strip pulled paint and parts of sheet rock down.

    Trash

These have gone way downhill. I bought one pack a few years ago that was great, so I bought 2 more packs. But the new packs are absolute trash and don't work. The wall piece always comes off at the step when you're supposed to pull the photo off, seal the wall strip, then leave the photo off for an hour. I'm doing the same thing I did with the old strips and following each instruction, but these don't work. This has resulted in several of these strips having to be trashed, which is a waste of a lot of money. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone anymore
