However, make sure the spouts are locked properly, the seals are not dirty or worn, and it has not been lying on its side for a long time. Disappointed ☹️
I purchased this water bottle and was very disappointed, the straw started squeaking as I was drinking out of it an then it started getting mold onto the straw and the cup itself, all I’ve ever put into it was water for work since we could only use clear water bottles

Straw started sucking air!
I have two of these Contigo water bottles... but both of them had started sucking air... making noise and the water does not come thru! I had adjusted the straws and the sound persists. I had loved these two bottles... but not they seem to be unfixable.

Not working
You wouldn’t think that a water bottle would stop working after just a couple of months, but that’s what happened with this one. For some reason, the only way to get water to come up is by loosening the top of the bottle. If it’s tightened, water will not come up through the straw.

Poor Design for Ease of Cleaning
You cannot adequately clean the water bottle because the silicone parts are not designed to be removed and replaced easily. Very poor design.

I have two older Contigo water bottles with the straw that screws on and a lmouthpiece that flips up with a button press. I would have happily bought more of those, but this was the closest option available. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying a second one before thoroughly testing out the first. Getting the straw inserted properly can be difficult. Many times, I have to readjust it so I can actually suck the liquid through it. In addition, the straw doesn't reach deeply enough to drink all the liquid out of the bottle, leaving a significant amount at the bottom. This is exacerbated by the fact that the design of the bottom of the bottle. The center of the bottle curves upward, while the outside edges curve downward. The remaining liquid then pools there and is unreachable. The worst problem, however, is that the bottle frequently squirts liquid on me when I click open the lid. At first, I thought this was due to the liquid being under pressure from elevation or heat. However, the liquid squirts out under pretty much every circumstance. I'm very disappointed in this water bottle and regret purchasing it.

Design Flaw
This is the 5th Contigo product we have owned. I like the flip-up spout design but the plastic shell around the mouthpiece needs some work. I accidentally knocked it off my side table onto carpet and the shell broke. It snaps around the silicone mouthpiece and now the tiny clips that hold the 2 pieces together broke off and it wont stay together any longer. I Super Glued it back together, not sure how long this will last. Needs a more robust design on the flip up mouthpiece. Otherwise, typical Contigo quality.

Doesn't last long
It worked well for a few months and then the spout broke. First it stopped flipping up when you pressed the button. Then it started leaking water while I drank from it and I realized the hard plastic casing that holds the silicone part of the spout in place was cracked open. Now the hinge for the spout has broken and it just kind of flops around.

It leaks!
It leaks! When it falls on it's side it leaks all over everything! Hard to clean all nooks & crannies from getting mildew.

Recommend handwashing
Received this as a Christmas gift and I was thrilled with it. That one was not an auto spout as I prefer no straw. someone else in the house was loading the dishwasher and put bottle in for cleaning, Dishwasher deformed by the bottle where the lid no longer fits. I was really disappointed because it came from someone very special and I thought of them every time I used it. Reluctantly, I’ve had to replace it, and I got the auto spout this time.

Straw leaks air
The old model was fantastic. Mine finally broke after about 5 years. On this one, the straw leaks air when you drink water. It was too expensive for this flaw, and now it's too late for me to take it back.

Used to be better
I’ve had these bottles for years and they’ve been mostly great. The top has some leaking problems, so be careful and keep it upright. Also it does sometimes spray you with water when you pop the top. My major issue is with the straws— it doesn’t stay in place and that can make it hard to suck the water out. I do like that they’re clear now, but I miss the way the straws were before with the screw on top.

This water bottle was great in the beginning and I liked the green but I’ve had a few instances where I pulled it out of my bag and popped the straw up to have fluid shot all over me and the surrounding areas. It’s hard to clean the lid and I have to readjust the straw after every refill because it won’t let you suck easily. The bottle itself is fine but the lid seems to be the majority of the issue. I mostly came to find a different lid but decided to leave a review just in case someone else needed a warning.

Water won't suck through after 6 months
I Loved this water bottle until it stopped working. This has happened with both of my Contigo water bottles. I am sucking and I am just getting air. Or air with a tiny little bit of water in it. I have tried putting the straw in any possible way and I have never put it in the dishwasher. Pretty disappointing when the cheaper brand has held out much better for me.

Great water bottle for one minute!
Bottle looks good and worked great for one refill. After filling it the 2nd time the straw no longer works. Sucking on the mouthpiece will only draw air and a splash of water. I checked all the potential spots for air to enter the straw, the top connection is tight, no obvious gaps anywhere. The spout no longer flips up, so it appears the spring has failed, difficult to see. An expensive water bottle when it works only one time.
