A: You can store these in your freezer in between uses. We just store them in our chest freezer.

A: They are liquid when buy them, you must put them in the freezer to freeze the liquid inside.

A: It depends on the side and how cold the other items in the ice chest are. If you have a large one, and it's packed in a cooler full of frozen meat, everything will probably be defrosted in three days.

I don't know how you can mess something like this up they've been around for years. but these do not keep my kids lunch cold even when used as a pair, And all it has to do is refrigerate loose things (drink box, yogurt pouch, some fruit) in an insulated bag. tons of plastic, heavy, and so useless.
