CorDx TyFast at-Home COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit, Fast Results in 10 Minutes (510K)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The CorDx test kit for COVID-19 was very easy to use and interpret the results. The box comes with two two tests, two vials of liquid, two nasal swabs, and very clear instructions on how to use the test kit. It only takes a few seconds to collect a sample with a swab (5 swipes around the inside of each nostril), rub the swab around the bottom of the vial of liquid (10 swirls), affix the attached cap to the vial, and deposit three drops of liquid from the vial into the test. Then you wait 10 minutes, and read your results. I took the test even though I have no symptoms, since that’s really the only way to try it and give an honest review (note: the test kit says not to take the test if you do not have symptoms), and it came out with a very clear, easy to read negative result. I thought this test kit was very well put together and comprehensive (the box even had little punch-outs to hold the vial of liquid while you’re collecting your sample), it has everything you need to test for COVID-19 in less than 15 minutes. I will absolutely be using the second test in the package in the event that I develop symptoms. I recommend this product for anyone who is symptomatic for COVID-19.

I have to say that this exam is by far the easiest to use and I have tried many. You scan the QR code and the instructions come up on your phone. The instructions are super clear and easy to follow. It walks you through step by step with written instructions as well as clear easy to follow pictures. The instructions also help you start a timer to process the test and give you clear information on your results. If you’re not into using QR codes on your phone for instructions the box comes with paper instructions that are also very clear to read and understand. I would recommend using this test if you need quick results.

The packaging was neat, and the instructions were clear and simple to follow. I liked how quickly the results showed up in about 10 minutes. The kit felt safe and well put together. I did test it when I wasn’t even sick, so I can’t fully confirm how accurate it is for a real infection, but as far as ease and speed go, it worked perfectly. Definitely a good product to keep around just in case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This test kit includes all the materials for 2 tests. The box has a convenient cutout for holding the testing tube. There is a QR code for more instructions and a timer. I found some of the instructions to be rather technical, such as “intended for the qualitative detection of SARS-COV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigen in anterior nasal (nares) swab samples).” While it states on the front of the box that this is a 10-minute test—and it does only take 10 minutes once you prepare the sample, “repeat testing is needed to improve test accuracy.” However, there is a statement that says you do not have to repeat the test if there is a positive result. The Test Interpretation section of the instructions is a bit confusing. It also states that this kind of test has “a higher chance of false negative results” than some other tests. Overall, I don’t feel a strong sense of confidence in this test.
