Q: Is the dinnerware (plates and bowls) in the Corelle Winter Frost White pattern lead-free, cadmium free, and arsenic free?

A: These are lead free per Lead poisoning activist Tamara Rubin of Lead Safe Mama. Older patterns were not, despite company statements. I bought these and absolutely love them.

Q: How shatterproof are the dishes? when dropped on hard surface will they break?

A: I've had corelle for almost 20 years. It's never chipped or broken. I dropped a bowl on ceramic floor 3 wks. ago, no problem. Not to say that it could never break. Certainly safer than many brands.

A: I reached out to their customer service and they refused to answer. They kept saying it was FDA safe (not the same thing) - but despite multiple back and forths would not confirm prop 65 compliance.

A: Be careful BC some of this company's product are lead and cadium free, and some are not. In fact some have dangerously high levels of one or both. Each item and color must be tested individually.

No quality control
One of the dinner dish is defective, Do, next Saturday I'll must go to the store to return it or If the have on stock to exchange it. I bought the set online to avoid going to the store... Any way... if one of the dishes weren't defective, they are just what I was looking for. Target did an excelent work delivering the box safe and sound the very next day.

Great quality, but tiny bowls.
The bowls are VERY SMALL. Like they are good sizes for children's bowls of cereal. Adults need bigger sized bowls.. lol. Other than that they are great. Very light weight and saves a lot of space with how thin they are!

Awesome but not shatter proof
I love these plates because they’re extremely light weight there is nothing like it. I’ve been using them for years and they go in the dishwasher almost every night. Although they don’t live up to their “shatter proof” potential. I’ve never seen anything break like mine did. It shattered into so many shards and small pieces it was shocking. I do still recommend them as they’re great just don’t expect them to fall and remain intact! You’ll be finding pieces of glass for weeks.

Great Starter Pack for Glass Dinnerware
This is the perfect starter pack for new dinnerware. I recently discarded my plastic dinnerware and replaced it with this set. I feel much better knowing my family is eating off 80% recycled glass dinnerware versus plastic. Corelle is a well known, trusted brand (other than the old sets). My only dislikes are the appetizer/salad plates are very, very small. Like, really only a roll would fit, and the surface coverage is not as large as I would have liked due to the design of the plates.
