A: Ann, Yes, these lids are BPA free and dishwasher safe. These are my favorite bowls and any time I bring them to a party, I am asked where I purchased them. They are wonderful, I've had mine for years.

Q: Are the edges of the bowls rolled or straight? In other words, does water accumulate in the lip of the bowls when upside down (in the dishwasher, say)?

I was looking for a large mixing bowl for holiday baking. The largest here at 8 qts looks a little small for large batches of cookies, etc but will be perfect for everyday baking, and for salads and other dishes that might be stored in fridge with the lid. Attractive enough for your serving table or to transport to a pot luck. Bowls are sturdy and the lids all fit. I still plan to buy a 10-12 quart bowl for large batches but these are a great purchase.

Nice set, useful sizes, tight fitting lids are great for the fridge. I cook and bake a lot, so I bought two sets of these bowls, I like them that much. The bowls are a good weight and come out of the dishwasher looking like new.

These are really, nice sturdy bowls. The lids fit great. The bowls stack together really well for easy storage. The only downside is that they get scratches as soon as you use them, which is unfortunate because I bought them to use.
