Q: What does this smell like? How is this "free and clear" if fragrance is added?

A: To me it smelled like whiskey. I threw out my sponge & laundered my cloth thinking they had gone funky?! Later realized it was the soap. To be fair..one roommate agreed and the other did not.

A: Like traditional dish soaps, Dawn Dish Spray is not designed for use in the dishwasher. The high level of suds could cause your dishwasher to oversuds and create a mess.

Q: Why is this marketed as "free and clear," which for about 20 years has meant fragrance-free and dye-free? I bought this thinking it was actually "free and clear" and couldn't use it. Inconvenient!

It doesn’t take long to breakdown stuck on food which is nice, I don’t like soaking things. The smell is light. I like it. It’s just enough to cover up the weird smell that unscented soaps have. I use dish soap to clean some tools and kids toys and the spray on this works really well for oddly shaped things. Makes it much easier. I would definitely buy this again but it doesn’t replace the standard everyday dish soap.

This stuff is MAGIC! I honestly cannot believe how well it removes grease and food particles on dishes! We’re pretty good about rinsing things right away, but some things just don’t rinse off well (certain salad dressings, butter, etc). This stuff works in mere seconds! I was surprised it had a smell because it was “free and clear”, and I buy a lot of those types of products because I don’t like a lot of them and don’t think they are necessary, but I honestly don’t understand the complaints about this one because it’s light. I personally like it, and would deal with it even if I didn’t because the product works so well, but if you want zero fragrance, this might not be for you.

I sprayed this on a pan that I baked ribs in and let it sit. This did such a great job at cutting the grease and cleaning the pan. Definitely worth the price.

This smells SO terrible! I do feel it did a bit better than the Everspring dish soap I have on hand but not better than regular dawn! I cleaned my dirty oven and I can’t cook in it now! It still smells horrible! And the glass door is now dirtier than before because this left a horrible film I can’t seem to get rid of! I may actually go back to the store and demand my 4 dollars back because of all the mess this made in my oven! I’ll use that money to buy a real dish soap that can actually clean everything well without being disgusting with smells and films leftover!
