Best little helper in a bottle.
This is a great dupe for the name brand Day Quil. Everyone I work with has children, and all surfaces in the workplace are shared (kitchen, desks, computers, etc) so cold and flu viruses tend to run rampant from the start of back to school season through mid spring. Unfortunately I can't always get through the season without getting a gnarly cold. Fortunately, this stuff helps me get through a shift as a functional human being. It also helps with my horrendous hayfever symptoms after cold/flu season is over, which is an absolute godsend. And the taste isn't half bad!

New formula, can't recommend anymore
Yes, it’s true. The new taste formula is awful. I find myself struggling to drink the medicine, unlike with the old taste formula. And yes, “crystals” appear at the bottom of the formula. I noticed a lot of them with crystals on the shelf with a July 2026 expiration date. The June 2026 expiration date bottles don’t have crystals. I literally checked every bottle on the shelf in-store. 5-stars will only return if the old formula returns. Buy DayQuil or another generic store brand due to these issues.

NASTY TASTE UGH
The flavor is simply awful. Don’t get me wrong, nearly all medicines don’t taste great but they’re tolerable. This I can hardly swallow because it’s so bad and the aftertaste lingers. The flavor is hard to describe, but the base is that traditional “orange/citrus” plus soapy mint and then something artificially sweet pops in, sorta like bubble gum or a sugar alternative. On top of it the flavor being disgusting, I don’t think it works well. The original brand will be a bit more pricey but the “better” taste and the fact it works is worth it.

Buyer Beware - Product formula and quality has changed
This product used to be a fantastic alternative to the more expensive name brand product. The new bottles brought with it a changed formula, and like many other up and up products - for the worse with much lower quality. New formula is now much thinner, seems less effective at relieving symptoms, and like others have mentioned tastes really awful. Now it’s just another product I’ve purchased for years that will now be bought at other retailers due to decreased quality and reliability in what used to be a trustworthy and consistent store brand.

This used to be good. It tasted and worked just like Dayquil, but at a better price. Then it was changed about 2 months ago and it's horrid. The taste is the worst and it doesn't seem to work as well either. It seems to be thinner in texture. Unless the old formula comes back, I won't be purchasing this again.
