If you want alcohol free, buy the "Gentle Balance Toner" of this brand. The label says "alcohol free". It has a purple lid. I use 100% witch hazel and even though it has 14% natural alcohol, it does not sting or dry out my face. It is not like rubbing alcohol.

A: Hi Summertime. The main difference is the additional Witch Hazel extract added for skincare benefits to our Dickinson's Original Pore Perfecting Toner. The T.N. Dickinson's Astringent does not include the extract.

A: It does have a natural smell from the ingredients (as opposed to being artificially perfumed), and I do feel it's kind of pungent. But it doesn't stick around, and it's a smell you'll get used to as you use the product.

A: Dickinson's Pore Perfecting Toner does not contain aloe vera. Dickinson’s Pore Perfecting Toner (yellow label) and the T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Astringent are two different products. T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel (blue label) is an all-natural, fully distilled product that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its pharmaceutical properties. Clinical evaluations were conducted and presented to the FDA to demonstrate that this product was useful in relieving irritation and swelling to due minor insect bites, minor bruises, abrasions and cuts and scrapes. This product is primarily marketed as a first-aid item in most retail outlets. Dickinson’s Pore Perfecting toner on the other hand is a cosmetic product that is used to help cleanse and tone and condition skin. No pharmaceutical claims are made on this product. In addition to being a distilled product it also contains an un-distilled witch hazel extract as part of its formulation.

The BEST of all time- a true classic.
Dickinsons Witch Hazel is one of those classic skincare products that actually lives up to the hype. It feels gentle and refreshing and helps calm redness or irritation without drying out the skin. I like using it after cleansing because it makes my face feel clean and balanced, not tight. The light natural scent is a nice touch too. It would have been better without the alcohol, however it does the job to replace what I'm out of. The alcohol does cause a little dryness instead of restoring the moisture. It has a better affect when placed in refrigerator.

Cruelty Free Forever Toner
I like this toner a lot. I have been using it for years and makes my face feel clean and makeup free when I apply it. I've been using this for 10 years, and I won't go back. I've used it all from high end to drugstore, only to be left with driex out skin, and huge, painful breakouts. I came across this ten years ago, and this stuff just works. My skin is oily, sensitive and breaks out, and this stuff just combats that. This stuff is sorcery!
