Q: I prefer to use this for books and other storage. Is it sturdy enough?

  • A: The weight capacity per shelf is 8 lbs. and the depth of the shelves is only 4.5" so it would only be suitable for paperback books. It must be mounted to wooden wall studs.

Looks perfect; works perfect!

I was skeptical about purchasing this item due to the wall hanging option. After I had it assembled, I thought I would just keep it as a floor shelf but placing the shelving unit onto the wall mount was quite simple and didn't require any additional help. It looks exactly how I imagined. Just a little bit of patience needed for getting the right height for the DVDs.
