A: Thank you for reaching out with your concern about our Dove Bar Gentle Exfoliating Bar. We stopped using microplastic beads in our products in 2014, one year in advance of the government ban in 2015. We made this decision in response to concerns about the build-up of microplastics in oceans and lakes. Our products now contain alternative exfoliating ingredients such as apricot kernels, cornmeal, ground pumice, silica and walnut shells. The blue beads are not meant to dissolve on the skin. (They help the skin's natural surface renewal process and gently exfoliate without irritating or scratching). The white particles break down into a powder with scrubbing, therefore keeping the product more gentle. 1/4 sauce with some gentle exfoliation is all I need, highly recommend. I have quite dry and sensitive skin, and this is the only soap I know that moisturizes my skin AND exfoliates it, without leaving it too dry or itchy.

This has been the ONLY soap I’ve used, for years. My last 8-pack purchase was a waste of money, as there has been a formula change and removal of the exfoliating beads. The clean scent has been replaced with a heavy cocoa butter scent and the lather has decreased. I’ve used only dove soap for most of my life and will be purchasing the original white bar from now on, hopefully that hasn’t changed as well.

I'm a long time user of the Dove exfoliating beauty bar. It exfoliated, it moisturized and didn't dry you out like most other soaps and it smelled great. But after running out of the last of the 8 pk I bought make months ago (it lasts, too) I night a new pack and when I opened it and used it I noticed a weird somewhat rancid smell after the initial clean scent and it lingered. Had to return the opened package. Clearly the formula or production method has changed and the smell is no longer pleasant. Please change it back or check the stock in case this is just a big bad batch. I'll need to find an alternative bar for now.

O absolutely love this bar soap!!! It is so creamy and smells so good. The little scrub beads help me for an extra exfoliating even though I use an exfoliating mitten. It leaves me skin super soft. I would so recommend this bar soap!!! Definitely a favorite of mine!!!!

This bar of soap, the scent, I like the exfoliation and the packaging, I love them. The lather is unique and the ingredients do not dry out the skin. I use it to exfoliate my skin. It leaves it fresh and clean. I love Dove products.

This is a great beauty bar soap by Dove. It gently exfoliates skin without being harsh and deeply cleanses skin without any irritation. Very gentle and has a rich luxurious lather. Doesn't strip skin of moisture and improves skins feel and texture. Great for body and face as well.

This is a really good bar of soap and I’m obsessed with how good it smells. My skin not only smells crazy good when I hop out of the shower but my skin also feels super smooth and moisturized. This bar of soap contains charcoal powder and glycerin. I think it’s an upgrade from their previous exfoliating bars of soap. Either way I love it.
