I wish I could give a better review about whether it works but I can’t bring myself to put it on again. The smell of this product is awful. My 10yo and husband both commented on it (unprompted) when I used it. I usually love ELF products but this one is a hard NO for me.

Smells like bacon. Not sure if the product is supposed to or if I got scammed at my local target. My dogs won’t stop smelling my face now.

100% don’t recommend. I had an allergic reaction to it. My face is completely itchy and have small bumps everywhere on it. I had no bumps or breakouts before using this.

For the price, this is beyond fantastic compared to other vitamin C serums around. I don't personally fully mind the smell and found that when I complete my routine (I have had this for a few weeks to slowly move it into my routine) that other serums and moisturizer after using this help the smell go away. I live in a mix climate and am curious to see how this does in the colder months for my skin, but so far it has definitely evened out some skin areas for me.

I hate absorbic acid. Why not put THDA? make a cheaper medical grade skincare. Copy Paula’s choice, revision. This vitamin c oxidizes and doesn’t penetrate the lipid layer as deeply. They tried. Want to try the new spf tint though.

I love the product, it brightens my skin when I don’t want to wear any makeup. The smell? Not great. But it goes away after a bit.
Love the serum but hate the smell

I've newly purchased the serum and cannot justly state the skin benefits yet. I can say that the smell reminds me of standing over a barbecue all day and reeking of the smoke smell. I was surprised that the chemists did not add a lighter fragrance, such as the one used with their Holy Hydration product line (although I also realize that some users need a fragrance free product). I'll continue using the product so that I can share the skin benefits, but I may have to use the Laroche-Posay Serum instead after this one is gone.

I tried the Bright Icon Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Serum and thought this product was well tolerated on my combination skin with age and sun spots. I started slow with this serum to give my skin a period of time to adapt. Ingredients include 15% vitamin C, 1% vitamin E and 0.5% ferulic acid. Vitamin C also has a typical slightly metallic smell but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. The product comes in a 1.0 fl oz bottle with a dispensing button on cap. I used about 2 drops for my entire face and that was enough. The pale yellow serum is fast absorbing and non greasy. However, I found that after putting on moisturizer, sunscreen and face makeup, I had a heavy feeling sensation from all those layers. I would recommend waiting for each layer to get absorbed and dry down before adding the next layer and combining a tinted sunscreen to skip wearing foundation. I also use retinol for fine lines and benzoyl peroxide to treat occasional acne. I did not use all these products together and kept to using the Vitamin C only in the daytime and retinol only at night. I would spot treat pimples when I had no other product on my face. Too many products used together will cause irritation and inflammation. After a month's usage, my sun and age spots were less noticeable but I don't expect them to completely disappear. No serum will do that. My complexion also looked brighter and healthier and I was able to use less face makeup since I didn't have to even out my skin tone as much. This product works but you need to give it time and also monitor how well your skin can tolerate the ingredients. I would recommend using Vitamin C with sunscreen in the daytime only and using any other product at night to see good results.

Great dupe for the Skinceuticals c e ferulic serum which retails for $182. This serum is a little bit thicker/stickier but does not bother me. Many complain about the smell but that also doesn’t bother me as it goes away once you apply moisturizer and sunscreen. The skinceuticals one smells the exact same. I’m excited to have this in my daily routine
Bad dupe of Skinceuticals

This is NOT a dupe of Skinceuticals Vit c + e + feruclic acid serum (~$180). This product is new & yet my brand new bottle is already oxidized (the serum is yellow). Fresh Vit C serum should be clear. The "hotdog" scent comes from the ferulic acid, which is normal for any vit c + e + ferulic acid formulation. That doesn't bother me bc I've used many versions & have had amazing results w my post acne hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately this formula has laureth-23, a coconut derivative that breaks me out, as many coconut derivatives do. I failed to notice it was in the ingredient deck bc I was too excited to find a cheaper version now that Skinceuticals' patent had expired. I'm only going to use this on exposed areas other than my face (bc this will absolutely result in a cystic acne breakout for me), such as arms & back of the hands where I don't ever experience breakouts. But I don't expect it to do much of anything since it's already degraded & partially oxidized. I got a gc w purchase so it would be more of a hassle to return than just use it up quickly & never purchase again. There are way better dupes out there.
