Q: Will it work on shag carpets

  • A: I have found that Deebot does not work well on carpets at all. It discharges tufts of dog hair (we have 2 dogs) every 3-4 feet so that I end up having to use my bissell upright vacuum cleaner to clean up after Deebot....best for hard floors....

  • A: Hi, DEEBOT is specially designed for hard ground floors such as the wood floors, ceramic tile, and short wool carpet. If the wool of the carpet is too long, it does cause the Side Brushes to wind up. It is recommended that you fold up the long-wool carpet or do some shade around the carpet a little to clear the obstacles for DEEBOT so That DEEBOT can travel freely in your home.   • A: It's great, it goes under most furniture with legs that allow for that clearance. That's why I love it, otherwise, how do you clean under that furniture without getting on your hands and knees with a crevice tool. Saves a lot of work!

Q: What happens if it comes near a pet accident on the floor? Liquid or solid.

  • A: I once had that happen with an I-Robot vac. It tried to sweep and vacuum it up, and the result was that I merely had to remove and rinse off all of the brushes and rinse out the dust cup and allow them all to dry, A wet paper towel wiped off the residue from the bottom of the robot, and no harm done. Then reinstall the brushes, and go on as usual. No big deal.

  • A: Hi, The robots have protection from the bumper and the bumper will hit obstacles and turn around. It is recommended to tidy up items which were scattered on the ground. And if there are too many obstacles or the environment is much too complicated, DEEBOT also considers that cleaning has been completed if there are too many collisions. Q: is the mapping actually something it remembers localy or is it that the device will bump its way along until it finds its dock?

  • A: Hi, Please kindly notice that the Deebot N79W is equipped with anti-collision sensors inside the bumper which can detect obstacles and let the robot slow down to avoid obstacles. And the Deebot not only has sensors but also has second protection from the bumper. If sensors fail to “see” obstacles somehow, the bumper will hit obstacles and turn around. So the route will be random. And it is recommended that the user starts the Deebot from the charging station and lets the Deebot be back to the charging station automatically, which could impress the Deebot to memory the route. Worked great for the first 1.5 years. Now keeps showing brush malfunction despite replace and cleaning regularly. And will no longer charge. No warranty past 1 year so I’m left with an expensive nonfunctioning vacuum. Do not recommend

Don't buy this product!!

I’ve had the product for a little over a year and it worked well all this time but now it randomly stopped working. It doesn’t charge neither on the charging dock nor through a direct charge. And this malfunction conveniently happened after its one-year warranty was up. I have no option but to repair or replace and the repair may not even be worth it. Save yourself the trouble and get a more reputable product.

Glad I switched to this brand instead of Roomba. I have had Roombas in the past and they’re always super loud and would break quickly after a year of use. They are great products, but this one’s much quieter and it’s an amazing job cleaning way home. So happy I made the switch for a more affordable option.

We’ve had this vacuum 2.5yrs now. I run it twice a day. I couldn’t be happier! It’s unfortunate it has some negative reviews. Maybe just bad luck with the ones they received? We have 3 dogs. This thing does work!

This product is defective in several ways. I have had to return it twice in less than a year. and they will not provide a refund. It stops working, turns on at random times, and gets stuck constantly. Terrible product!!

Dead after one year

It's been a year and a month just out of the 1year warranty window and it does not work. I regularly clean it and nothing looks wrong. But it doesn't seem to charge. It beeps once when connecting to the charger and blinks blue twice then stops. But it's dead and won't even react when I flip the switch/push the button.

Ecovacs customer service is awful. We've had nothing but issues with this product with no resolution from customer service other than to buy a new one. It worked for a couple months, barely. It has no set path in which it vacuums so there are always many spots per room that it misses. I'm so disappoinyed

Received this as a gift. I just wanted a basic vacuum that would randomly go around and clean and this worked great. Picked up tons of cat hair and had no problems going over my flat rugs. It was very dumb about returning 'home'. Much of the time I would end up just carrying over to the dock when it was done. Then, after I had it barely over a year, it died. Customer service said it could be the battery, so I bought another one. That wasn't it. I did all the requested trouble shooting but nothing worked. Ended up throwing it out and getting a 501, which was even worse. I think I'm done with deebots.

Worked really well for a year and a half, then stopped charging. It lights up when it gets to the dock like it's going to charge, but never does. Two stars only because it worked well while it lasted.

NEVER WORKED [NOT EVEN ONCE]

Never worked even once brand new straight out of the box. Followed all instructions and researched troubleshooting online. Spent hours trying to get it to work even once. We moved and stored robovac properly in temp-controlled unit before trying it for the first time, so return/warranty period expired by the time we tried it and realized it was defective. NEVER EVER buying an Ecovacs product again. Also disappointed in Target for selling a severely defective product especially at such a high price tag.

If you are buying a vacuum to last just right after the manufacturers warranty expires ( 1 year ) go for this one. Mine worked fine but a year after, just went from bad to worse to completely stopped working. I reached out to their customer service, but since it was not under warranty anymore they just wanted to offer me a discount for a new vacuum. I guess u get what you pay for. Junk.
