[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the format. Have not played it with my son yet as it's a little old for him but I familiarized myself with it and think it's a great addition!

I'm a reading specialist and this game is wonderful! First I played it with my four-year-old son and told him the letters after he answered the questions. The questions were easy ones like name a color. He was excited when the tiles move closer to his side of the street and then I got competitive when they started moving towards my side of the street! So much fun then I played it with my four-year-old i'm a reading specialist and this game is wonderful! So much fun then I played it with my four-year-old , Eight-year-old and 10-year-old. We were all chanting and cheering each other on! I did find it useful to use a wipe a board because my eight-year-old is not the best speller. So we spelled the word first and he was able to move the tiles accordingly. Such a great game! Strongly recommend it!

I have a lot to say about this game- all awesome things, with one suggestion... I thought this game looked interesting and wondered if it would work with the Phonics based program that I use (which includes 70 phonograms, many of which are multi-letter). Upon opening the box, I found it to be a very nicely made, sturdy, tri-fold board, with a good storage container for the cards, although the box seems a little too big for the product. You don't even have to punch out any of the letter tiles and risk ripping them! I loved that the category cards are color coded with one side being more challenging than the other. Both people could play at the same level, or you could level the playing field a bit by having the older person play from the orange side while the younger read from the blue side. Or you can simply let the game grow with their needs and provide many opportunities for play over the course of the child's education. The instructions are written in a way that there are teams, which works because each team has the opportunity to brainstorm together and come to a conclusion (which other skills come into play if they are strategic in knowing what letters they really need/or are close to getting in a round). However, we played one on one and it worked just as well. For the first round, I played it with a 10 year old and noticed that it was going to take a while to get to a winner (capturing 8 letter tiles). I mentioned that maybe we should just play until one of us captured 4 letter tiles and he said, "No, I want to go to 8! This is fun!" KUDOS to Educational Insights when a child is begging to continue! SUGGESTION- in between step #2 & 3, I would recommend that you have the children write down their chosen word (paper/marker board, etc) before they move the letter tiles on the board, instead of guessing while moving the tiles to prevent as many mistakes. It helps reinforce spelling. I also watched a 9 & 10 year old play and they loved it!

As a Special Education Teacher, I am so thankful to have found this game. I use it with students who have difficulty "thinking" at an independent level and this game has really helped them gain access to their fund of knowledge. I enjoy the fact that it's a no prep, high interest and skill building game. It's also a fantastic game for building spelling! I love the fact that they feel such pride when they come up with a word. The kids actually ask to play this game over many other games!
A game we can ALL enjoy!

It is rare that we find a game that the whole family can really enjoy and play at a level that works for each individual....this is one of those rare unicorns! So much fun and my 5 and 8 year old don't even realize that they are learning the whole time - CHALK ONE UP FOR MOM!

I thought this was a great educational game that my girls really enjoyed. It helps the players think about how things go into categories and especially helps with spelling. One of the down sides I saw was that it can be pretty lengthy causing my girls to get a little restless.
So much fun!

We love this game! We are a big board game and card game family! This game is perfect for our 6 and 8 year old. Love that there is 2 different " levels" to play. We started off with easy but the kids quickly wanted to play the "harder" one! Will definitley buy the next version, too!

Great game for young readers! Fun to have young readers read aloud the cards promoting confidence in reading to an audience, recognition of sight words and sounding out unfamiliar words. Also this game helps young readers match letter sounds of the answers to match with the alphabet letter all the while having fun playing this board game.

We received this game for free in exchange for a review. That did not change how we felt about it. That said, my 6 yo loved the game. We played it twice and he was disappointed we didn't continue at least one more time. He had some trouble at first because he wasn't sure how to spell a lot of words, but working with a parent on his team, he won both games we played. I think it'll help him with spelling in the long run.

This is (as expected) like the "regular" Word on the Street, except aimed at a younger crowd. This was a bit easier to pick up, but still as fun and engaging. Would definitely recommend this to new gamers!
