Powerful somatic and attachment-focused skills to heal the unresolved trauma that fuels your anger.
Is anger getting in the way of the life you want? Do you lash out at others, or experience uncontrollable rages that hurt your relationships or damage your career? When you feel angry, do you also experience unpleasant or even frightening physical sensations such as a rapid heartbeat, shaking, or sweating? If so, your anger may be caused by unresolved past trauma. In order to effectively manage your anger, you must first treat the root cause.
Grounded in somatic and attachment-focused EMDR (SAFE), this book offers a self-guided, trauma-informed approach to help you heal and move past unresolved trauma using bilateral tapping--a simple technique that stimulates the right and left sides of the brain to help the body achieve a more restful, balanced state. By addressing the root of your anger--instead of repressing it--you'll gain greater control over intense emotions, regulate your nervous system, improve your relationships, and build a more peaceful life.
You'll learn skills and strategies to:
- Identify your anger triggers
- Stay grounded in the moment with mindful awareness
- Reprocess early memories using tapping techniques
- Extinguish the fire feeding your anger
- Build stronger relationships--and a more fulfilling life
Unresolved trauma can keep you stuck in a vicious cycle of anger, rage, and frustration. But you can heal the wounds of the past and build a more peaceful life. This compassionate, step-by-step guide will show you how.
Review Quotes
"Deborah S. Kennard brings a creative and innovative focus to self-guided anger management with somatic and attachment-focused EMDR (SAFE). Her book is exceptionally well organized into two parts, with rich case examples, helpful exercises, and an overall theme of applied nonviolence. The thematic attention to SAFE also includes mindfulness awareness, compassionate assumption, healthy boundaries, and 'finding your answer.' I heartily recommend her book to anyone on a journey of self-discovery and healing."

"Who knew anger was the answer! Using real-life stories, metaphors, and plain language, the author guides the reader to understand how anger became the answer by applying EMDR therapy concepts. Unseen roots become seen as the reader follows the path forward. Relationships with oneself and others will settle (calm). This book is applicable to more than anger.
