A: The typical way enamel finish is baked on, it becomes a surface like glass. Durable, tolerates high heat, low potential to transfer harmful substances to food. Great option for health concious cooking

Q: When preheating, I’ve read that some enameled Dutch ovens require something in them (like water).... can I preheat this when it’s empty or does it need to have something in it?

A: Hi Sarah - Thanks for asking! Before the first use, fill the product with water and bring to a boil then wipe dry. After that, you can preheat the cookware over low to medium heat for 2-3 minutes before adding oils or other liquids. Keep in mind to never leave pans unattended during preheating. A: I have the same type stovetop. It has a smooth enameled bottom. I waited till I saw in person. They are perfect. Hoping they get back in stock so I can order a second.

Q: What can I do about my lid that has two chips on the rim? It doesn't look very nice. Can I get a replacement lid? I'd also like to purchase another one as a gift, but hesitate since mine is chipped.

Absolutely love this little dutch oven! We use it for a butter dish (it fits a Kerrygold block nicely). I have magnetic push pins in a wooden spreading knife that attaches to the lid. Finally, a clean and beautiful butter dish!

I love this for soups and casseroles! It’s my first Dutch Oven so I can’t compare it to others but the quality is excellent for the price in my opinion. The enamel can chip easily like others have mentioned, but I’ve had mine for two years and only have one small chip on a handle and one on the lid from when I dropped it while washing it. It’s pretty easy to clean but can have slight discoloration after multiple uses. Still would definitely recommend!

I love this dutch oven. Its tried and true and easy clean-up. After making bread in it once, the enamel chipped off dead center, about the size of a dime. It hasn't gotten any bigger but I wish I didnt have to live with a chip in it. Time for the upgrade to the 6qt!

User error on my part, but I tried to clean this with a scrubby wool thing like how I do on my 100% cast iron stuff, forgetting this has an enamel coating and ruined it.

Works beautifully for making bread - which was why I bought it! Affordable and sturdy. I did read all reviews before purchasing, and as mentioned in a few other reviews, mine has discolored a bit and become brown in some areas. I’ve used it at 450° temps about 10 times since buying, and by the 4th use it had turned brownish. But if you’re buying this to use - like I did - and don’t plan on using it for decor then I would 100% recommend. Definitely worth the money!

This is my favorite cast iron pot. I love the color of the enameled pot. I have the 5qt size. It is perfect for soup, chili, and sourdough bread baking. It has help up well even after much use. It looks beautiful also.

I got the magnolia Dutch oven and casserole dish. I had the itch to buy the super high end stuff but don’t really have a family to justify having all this expensive cookware. I have one $250 Dutch oven and a whole set would cost over $1000. So I settled on getting this in the mean time. I absolutely that decision. Of course, I have lower expectations of this stuff vs my $250 pot. But these pots are beautiful.
