A: Hi N! Sucrose (table sugar) is not used as a source of carbohydrate in Poly-Vi-Sol with Iron. It is sweetened with glycerin. There is less than 1 gram (g) of carbohydrate in each 1 milliliter (mL) dose of our Poly-Vi-Sol with Iron. I hope this information helps! ~Kate

Constipation is not the number of bowel movements your baby has each day. Constipation is infrequent movements that are firm stools that are hard for your baby to pass. They may come out in hard pellets, or cause pain or bleeding. Your child’s stools may change in number, color, and consistency when you change formula or feedings. Each child is different and must be individually evaluated. We recommend that you discuss your questions with your child’s doctor. It has the necessary vitamins and comes with a dropper but also has an overwhelming nasty vitamin smell and taste. My baby hates it and would cry and refuse to drink from his milk bottle that we try to feed him afterwards. We suspect he has residual vitamin flavor when he drinks the milk and refuses it due to association. It has been hard to get him used to the vitamin and now the bottle. I wouldn’t recommend.

He didn’t protest taking it so the taste was toddler approved and the packaging was easy to use. I think more prolonged use would show more significant results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son’s doctor recommended these for my son who was born at 34 weeks when we brought him home to use along side with Enfamil Neuropro Enfacare Premature formula. I mixed it with about 2oz of formula 1 time per day. We mixed it with a small amount of formula because he hated the taste alone and I wanted to make sure he was getting the recommended amount. It does stink, so definitely try in the bottle if baby tries to spit it out! He is now 5 months old and we still use these vitamins in his bottle 1x per day and I have hardly ever had an issue. The first few months I would use with Mylicon in the bottle as well if it seemed to be hard on his stomach. That helped a lot, but now I no longer use with Mylicon because his stomach tolerates them much better.
