Epic Battle of Alesia Board Game

The battle of Alesia in 52 BC was the climatic battle of the gallic Wars. Vercengetorix, the "supreme leader" of the Gallic revolt, had retreated to the hilltop fortified town of Alesia with 30-50,000 warriors. Julius Caesar with his force of 50,000 men built a line of walls and entrenchments around Alesia. Realizing the Gaul's were assembling a relief force to attack the Romans, Caesar then built a line of walls, camps, and defenses facing outwards.Within this "defensive Donut" Caesar and his 50,000 soldiers prepared to face an attack from a relief force believed to be between 70-150,000 strong, while still defending against the besieged Vercingetorix and his 30-50,000 men. This is your battle to fight. As the Gallic player your goal is to open a road for Vercingetorix to escape the board and carry on the Gallic revolt. As the Roman, your goal is to stop the escape of Vercingetorix stamp out the flames of revolt throughout Gaul.
