Q: Is this the same as the classic? Does it have the cover that goes over the baby's head?

submitted by ka17oe - 4 years ago
  • A: The Ergobaby Omni 360 All Carry Positions Ergonomic Carrier has some different features than the Ergobaby Original Carrier. Notably, the Omni 360 can be used from birth without an infant insert, while the Original carrier requires the infant insert until at least 12 pounds. Another different feature that the Omni 360 has, is that it allows baby to forward face in the carrier. Both carriers allow a front facing in carry, hip carry, and back carry.

Q: Is the infant insert included?

submitted by Sam - 5 years ago
  • A: The Omni 360 Carrier does not require an infant insert, as it has an adjustable seat and attached head support pillow. It can be worn from 7 - 45 pounds.

This carrier was the most complicated carrier for me. I’m 5ft so it didn’t really work out for me and I wasn’t sure if the baby was comfortable or not as for my husband it was comfortable and his 5’11 but like I said wasn’t sure if baby was comfortable AND so complicated to put on and take off

I bought the Ergobaby Omni 360 the day before we took a family trip to the zoo and although on the pricier side, it was a well-worth-it splurge. I was previously using the sollybaby wrap and although it says it fits babies up to 25 pounds, It did not work for me past the 10lb mark - I always felt the need to readjust. I love the fact that this carrier offers multiple positions (I have only tried the front and rear facing so far) and the fact it TRULY has lumbar support. I barely felt like I was carrying my 7-month-old for 5+ hours! Only complaint is that if baby is exclusively wearing a onesie and/or shorts, it does slightly rub on the inner part of their thighs while front facing. Also, I have washed it several times (we have a drooling teether on our hands) and it hasn't frayed or lost its texture!

I give it 3 just because it’s time consuming to put on and also not enough back support , I wish it could’ve been a little more convenient on that bc it’s really pretty to wear

Not enough back support

As someone that has frequent back pain this carrier only made it worse. The top strap just didn’t have the support I needed it just kind of hung loosely at it’s tightest & I don’t believe I have a small frame. I do think the straps are also impractical when strapping in with no assistance. That being said, my 6 month old was very comfortable in this carrier. I just couldn’t bear the weight of carrying him without the (very much needed) upper back support. I tested the baby bjorn in store and will ultimately be purchasing as a replacement. I’ve used other carriers that seem to offer the support I need at a much lower price point but I wanted something with longevity that would last into his toddler stage.

Aesthetically I find these contraptions to be unappealing (except for a certain $700 option). This one is ugly, yet awesome! My 5 month old loves it. She can look around at the world and it’s comfortable for both of us. I can wash bottles and fold clothes while she is entertained by the simple acts. Of course it’s a little warm, but there’s a baby strapped on you. It’s great for the parent and very fun for the baby.

My ergo baby was purchased off my registry and we just opened it only to find it was already used!!! There are multiple oil stains on the carrier and opened bags in the new box packaging. This is the second target item that arrived with what looks like wear and tear. I’m very confused as to how this is even possible. Requesting a replacement and explanation.

I love this carrier. It keeps baby comfortable and cool. Is extremely comfortable with the padded shoulder straps for whichever parent is wearing the baby. It's a perfect baby wearing piece. We adored using it.

Super comfortable and easy to wear. I love that I can wear my baby facing out. I wore this to the beach and can attest to the mesh as super comfortable for baby and I. Just get it.

One slider kept sliding off position.

I bought this carrier is 2018 when I had my first child. I really liked all the positions. The fabric never left my son's legs red. The only issue I have is that one of the sliders kept moving position. At first it was only once in a while & I thought maybe I forgot to move to put it on the correct position. But after a while it would do it constantly. My concern with the slide moving is that the baby would not be in an ergonomic position & this may cause abnormal hip development. Since I used it for a while, I thought it would not get exchanged and never tried. I just constantly adjusted the slide. Now that I'm pregnant with my second child I wish I had tried exchanging it because this carrier is perfect for me if it worked properly.

Too bulky for my frame

I’m 5’2”, ~125lbs and this carrier is much too big for me to use comfortably. My baby fits fine into it, but the back strap doesn’t sit comfortably on my lower back (yes I watched the video on how it works) and the straps are too bulky to fit right on my shoulders. Maybe this would be good for a taller parent but not for me. It also doesn’t pack away very well, I would prefer something more compact.

Very comfortable carrier and easy to use! I have tried multiple carriers from different brands and styles, and this is the most comfortable one on the lower back, especially for a heavy baby. Highly recommended.

Probably not for anyone over approx 5’6” or 180lbs

Fairly solidly made but not particularly well designed. There’s no way to adjust for torso length and the one-size-fits-all approach creates a really disappointing product. I’m 5’9 1/2”, not a particularly tall guy, and have to have the “hip” belt way up around my mid section to keep my baby at the recommended carry height. It just slides down as we walk since there is no hip supporting it and also keeps the carrier from distributing the baby’s weight well. The padded section of the straps is also very short. I get it. This product was probably designed mostly with women in mind. I have broader shoulders and some muscle and the padded section of the straps only goes an inch or two down my back, leaving only the webbing for back straps, neither comfortable nor particularly secure. The straps that adjust the length of the shoulder belt are also the only straps that adjust tightness on baby. Basically I have to cinch the hip belt as tight as possible around the bottom of my rib cage for proper ride height and then cinch the shoulder belts only as tight as I dare, being mindful not to draw them too tightly for baby, and then just sort of keep hitching my son up as we walk. I’d bought the harness in hopes of also using it for light, low impact activity like snow shoeing and cross country skiing, but that is totally out of the question. I was also very disappointed to find out shipping on returns was at the buyer’s expense. That’s not particularly indicative of a company that stands by its products. Bottom line is this could have been a solid carrier with another piece of fabric between baby and adult with baby security adjustment straps separate from the shoulder adjustment height straps and a simple Velcro-closing height adjustment strip for the hip belt. Without those, it’s really just not appropriately constructed for men, taller women, anybody with a little more body mass, etc. Construction is sturdy, hence 2 stars instead of 1.

Hits baby's chin front facing, & too bulky

Hina T - 3 years ago
I read so many positive reviews about this item, but I’m having a hard time loving it. Facing in has been good for the most part, however out facing is the struggle. My baby is 4.5 months and very tall at 26.5 inches, and yet his face continues to rub against the front strap. We’ve made all the adjustments possible and he ends up chewing on it or rubbing against his chin. I’ve seen a small amount of people here mention this, but I’d love to know how buyers are dealing with this. I’m probably going to return this item and get a sleeker version from another brand. It’s also super bulky.
