Q: Is this lid on this supposed to close on its own or no? I have to push it down every time.

A: Ours is the same way. I don't think it's supposed to close on its own.

Once the lid is open; you have to push it closed with your hand. I have opened it with my baby sleeping in the same room and it quiet enough it does not wake her.

Q: hello, I've never used one of these before, much less even looked at one. i haven't had the baby yet, but i did get this as a gift. i just wanted to know, when it gets full, how do you take it out?

A: There is a spot on the inside of the pail where you cut the bag. You then tie the bottom of the bag and fill it up again and again.
submitted byQsmomma - 7 years agoA: I suppose you want to know how to dispose of the bag lined inside the pail? This is literally a trash can made especially for dirty diapers so you will simply need to remove the full bag and toss that away. You'll then replace the bag and bam, that's it.

A: I have tried the up and up genie refills and they fit so I would assume so, but did not try the brand name genie refills

Q: How many diapers can this hold? I know the only size down only holds 30..

A: This holds about 30-40 size 2 diapers I'd say. I can never smell the diapers. Great product!

I thourghly enjoy the sleekness of the Munchkin STEP Diaper Pail. The step is a convenient way of opening especially in those one handed situations. Arm & Hammer bags and pucks are great at locking in the odor. I appreciate the built in cutter for continuous bags as they're the more affordable option. While the auto seal feature greatly contributes to odor control its flawed in the fact the smaller size opening causes you to eventually shove diapers in. Also, I would love if the lid was auto close instead of manually as it doesn't always close seamlessly. Overall it's a good diaper pail that I would recommend if odor control is top priority.

This diaper pail closes so loud. It’s like a squeaky noise and I never use it when baby is sleeping because I’m worried about waking the baby up. It also doesn’t hold a lot of diapers and we are constantly changing it out. Also I can’t seem to find the right size for the odor dispenser at target. This is not worth the price for the poor quality of it.

Stupid design, have to shove down diaper with your hand and is extremely loud when closing. It does not automatically close its a horrible loud sound when closing. I absolutely hate it.

This pail is actually quite great. Overall, I would still buy again despite the flaws. Pros: - Step to open, don't have to open with hands - Contains smell well, with or without fragrance puck - Contains smell even if the lid is open - Slim - Fits a ton of diapers - Option to use the refill ring or individual snap and toss bags (the bags are quite durable, they haven't ripped yet) Cons: - Does not close automatically, which is not intuitive. You have to use your hands to close the lid. - The lid will make a very loud creaking noise once the bag starts getting full - it's annoying but it's an easy indicator to change the bag. - The door will not close if the bag is too full - again, easy indicator to change the bag.

I dislike everything about this diaper pail and now I am stuck with it :( -lid opens half way -when closing the lid, it makes a lot of loud sounds -smells really bad because the bag inside doesn’t close all the way -even with expensive refill and freshener still doesn’t work as expected.

The look is nice but larger than necessary. If you do not have the arm and hammer disc or the name brand bags (which are not cheap) the smell is there every time it is opened. The lid does not close on its on. My baby can open the lid no problem at all. If you don't shove the diapers down the sound when closing is very loud.

It is easy to tell when the pail is full because the lid gives some resistance when you try to close it. At this time, we usually fill the pail in 6-7 days, which is perfect for getting it out the door each trash day. We are using the Diaper pail refill continuous bags and it is easy to use! So far, our toddler doesn't seem interested in messing with the diaper pail, so that is great as I do not see a lock on it. Would recommend!

This pail has been incredible at trapping diaper odors! The arm and hammer pail freshener is light and fresh and blocks out any odors when the pails is opened. The only critique is that , I wish the twist mechanism was stronger instead of having to push the diaper in so hard to get it to go down. The look is very sleek and modern , and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Overall , it’s a wonderful product.

Overall, this diaper pail is great and does exactly what it's intended for - holds dirty diapers and locks the odor away. For the details, the foot pedal makes for a more sanitary experience so I don't have to lift the lid with my contaminated hands after handling soiled diapers. The foot pedal has just enough firmness that the lid doesn't fly open, it opens smoothly and stays open until I've put everything in through the hole that seals up, but it doesn't close on its own so I still have to touch the lid. I just use a wet wipe first to keep the contamination to a minimum though and disinfect it regularly. I think the snap seal bag does a pretty good job holding a lot of diapers, but it seems to fill up faster than the refill cartridge bags. And once the bag fills up a certain amount, either kind, I noticed the pail's front compartment likes to pop open on its own, even if there is still room in the bag for more dirty diapers. It closes back up with a tap so it doesn't really bother me and the bag and scent cartridge does a good job keeping the odors at bay anyways. The height of it is perfect for me, I'm 5'4, and I like the clean white simple look of the pail as well. It blends into any room and any interior design.

I love this diaper pail! The modern sleek style goes perfectly in my children's nursery and its very easy to use I'm. We were using the Dekor Classic diaper pail but I prefer the Munchkin Step Up mainly because of the odor control. The self sealing function and the Arm and Hammer puck definitely helps alot with controlling the odor .The only issue I experienced was the lid not closing all the way, other than that it's a great product!

This diaper pail is fantastic! For our first three kids, we used a regular trash can with some odor absorbing sachets, but we had to take all poop diapers to the garage trash can to avoid stinking up our bedroom. This diaper pail does a wonderful job of keeping odors inside, which makes it much more convenient considering we have three kids currently in diapers. The bags hold a lot of diapers, and they’re very easy to replace. I would definitely recommend this diaper pail!
