I am use to brighter screen easier read out. And the voice speaks very fast and hard to understand for type of radar band. The positive side the sensitive seems accurate. I have the brightness max out and volume max out.

I did receive this detector as an upgrade for my Max 3. There were issues and I had to send the Max 4 back and awaiting it to be fixed or a new one to be sent to me. Hopefully this does not take to long. ,

I’m rating the power cord supplied with the unit only. The escort power cord supplied is too short in length. You will be buying an after market from Amazon. Need to be 2 foot longer! Even if you try to stretch it it’s still to short. Plan on spending extra monies.

The features certainly have been expanded from my old Passport 8500. The AutoNox feature has really cut down on false alerts. The GPS-enabled tracking of speed traps is an interesting feature and the speed readout is nice. My biggest disappointment is the brightness of the display. It's maximum brightness setting is not very bright and almost impossible to clearly see when wearing sunglasses. I called Escort regarding this concern and the only help they offered was to send the unit back under warranty and have it checked out in the lab. I asked if a firmware upgrade was possible to fix the poor brightness and the curt answer was "No".

Very disappointed in the new escort, Max4 I have had escort and other bell electronic products for many years. I just upgraded to the new escort max. I was disappointed with the sound the new magnetic hanger that you have to just stick at the front of the windshield you can’t hang it towards the back of the windshield anymore The illumination of the max four and the sound. I will be returning this product.

I haven't had the Max4 but a few weeks, but the bells and whistles are much better than the last 2 Escort detector I had. The detector has learned all of the false signals in my area so I only get the 2 beeps and then silence. I'm going on a road trip in a few day so I will learn alot more for sure.

It works. Very cheap speaker, cannot hear at full volume if vehicle radio is on at any volume. Everyone is cutting corners. Pathetic.
