Wide range of detected frequencies, very good distance on the detecting. Easy to read display for bogey counters. Ability to upgrade the database via an app or wirelessly. Light weight. The arrow function is superb for knowing which direction the bogeys are located. My second one. Had the original and after my car was stolen replaced it with the MKII. Worth the price of admission and paid for itself several times over already.

Bad firmware update bricked it 3 days after receiving it. Contacting tech support was a terrible experience of throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks combined with blaming my computer and car. Lost my business for life.

The mounting bracket for windshield is cumbersome and not easy to use. I put a sun shade in my wind shield because my car is black and it is not easy to unmount radar detector to put in sun shade. Liked the mounting bracket with the 9500 better because it was easier to use. Otherwise I have owned Escort detectors for a long time and think they are a great product.
