Matter of Fiction- Went on so streaky!! The first coat was dripping everywhere so I started over with a smaller amount and it seemed no matter what I did you could see through the color. I did 3 coats and then it was just getting gross so I stopped And did the top coat. Worst at home pedi ever 😅

I love the look of gel nail polish, but hate having to get it off so I figured i'd give this a try. It looks and feels just like a gel nail polish. After a week and a half it still didn't chip but I wanted to take it off to try other colors. It came off as easily as regular polish, maybe one or two more scrubs. Very impressed!

This has to be the worst nail polish I’ve ever purchased. I always buy gel, this one peels off on its own right away, I bought this for my vacation and didn’t bring it along since I’ve never had to touch up so soon. I was wrong, by the time I got there the next morning all my nails were peeling, 2 days through basically all of the color had peeled up so I just tore it off. It only stayed on 2 toes but they were chipped from the top edges. I looked rough and since it’s a pretty bright color you can see in photos that only my big toes had color it looked so bad. Never buying again and I hope I can save someone who’s going on vacation like me with this review.

Love this line! I took a color and the top coat to my regular nail salon to have them use on my manicure. This was last Monday. Today is Wednesday and there’s not a chip or peel or anything. I’m sold and will be building my collection. Although I’d love it if the salon would just buy all the colors. I do think this would hurt their gel mani sales. I love that regular polish remover will take off the color.

I applied this polish like normal a week ago and it has not chipped one bit! Normally regular nail polish only lasts a day or two before it starts chipping off. I didn’t have any issues like the other reviewers had with bubbles or the polish being too thick. Highly recommend!

this is regular polish that they say is "gel like" but the title says it is gel polish. no UV light used to cure, doesn't dry quickly.

Polish never fully cured. I waited at least 15 minutes between each coat. It required 3 coats of the base color to get mostly ful coverage- there were still some somewhat bare streaks even with 3 coats. I used the gloss gel couture step 2 top coat. I got indentations in my nails even after allowing adequate time for each coat to dry. I went to the pool later the same day that I painted my nails and they all started peeling up at the edges. I'm very disappointed.

Maybe if you apply it with the top coat in the morning and then don’t touch anything else FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, your manicure will still look good. The polish got all mushed overnight, despite giving it 3 hours to set. Also this color needs a minimum of 3 coats to not be completely translucent on the nail.

The color Sheer Fantasy should be a sheer pink nail polish. However, Gel Couture is also available in opaque pinks like the shade Matter of Fiction. I got the color Fab Florals and it stained my nails sooo bad. Since there’s no base coat it also dries out my nails pretty bad. Other reviews mention bubbling and I’ve tried it twice and had the same experience each time. It’s a great concept, just not well executed.

Nude shades are usually too warm on me. Even Fairy Tailor is a too warm. This shade is perfectly “my nails but better” with just 1 coat. And the formula has excellent durability. I can get a whole week without chips, peeling, or scratches. The brush shape even lets clumsy me get a near perfect polish even with my non-dominant hand.

I have Sheer Fantasy and Fairy Tailor in the gel line, and love both; but Fairy Tailor is more peach and opaque than this shade. Sheer Fantasy is a truly sheer polish (no shimmer) with a “your nails but better” look that’s absolutely perfect for everyday wear. It looks great on long nails in particular. One coat is barely visible, but two coats is enough to give the impression of a very lightly pink French manicure (but it’s not opaque enough to hide stains or imperfections in the nail, so be aware). It’s such a classic look, perfect for a Grace Kelly style outfit. If you don’t need color with your outfit, and just want to look like you were born with perfect nails, this is your shade. It’s quite similar to Mademoiselle from the regular Essie line, with a very faint milkiness after two coats. Gorgeous. Note: I have cool olive skin.
