Q: Why is this not for women? The 5% is what I am looking for and advised by doctor.

A: Hi Fresh Carrots - Great question. Women should not use minoxidil topical solution 5%. Some women may grow facial hair. In addition, minoxidil topical solution 5% may be harmful if used during pregnancy or breast-feeding. Hope this helps! - Taylor

Q: I wish they added a picture of the back of the box. How do you even use this? Is once daily enough since it's extra strength? Do you wash it out every night? I really don't want to be washing my hair every night.

A: Hi, thank you for your question about the Up & Up Men’s 5% Minoxidil. This Men’s Minoxidil should be applied as follows: 1mL twice a day directly onto the scalp in the hair loss area. You do not have to wash the product out every night. If you desire to wash your hair, you should allow it to stay on the scalp for about 4 hours before washing. I started using in my mid 60s. It takes a long time to see definite new hair growth that matches texture and color with your other hair. Give it 18 months! Be aware, it only regrows hair on the verge, basically your bald spot in back, and maybe down the center of the crown of your head.

I use this at the recommendation of my dermatologist for hair loss. I’m having to wash my hair more frequently, but I have noticed new hair growth. Has no noticeable smell and the liquid version is not as tacky as the foam version.

Bought this for my husband about 6 months ago and he uses it day and night every single day. A small bald patch began to appear above his ear and now you can’t even tell he ever had a patch there. His hair has completely grown back in that spot. The bigger spot on the back of his head has taken a bit longer to grow back, but it has shrunken so much! The difference in growth is noticeable. Patience is key, but it works!

I have been using the 2% solution for women for a year. My dermatologist told me that I could up the strength to 5% for men and I have. It is too soon to any difference in hair growth. However, the year of using the 2% has thickened my hair some.

First, let me state that I am a female- 30 years old and started using this product about 8 months ago as I noticed pattern baldness around the temples/ receding hairline. It takes a while to see results, so patience and consistency are key. It took about 3-4 months of consistent use for me to see a drastic change, but this stuff works. I do want to warn you, you may reach a point in your hair growth journey where you feel you can "get away" with skipping a day or two here and there, but don't. I have made this mistake and as a result lost a couple of months worth of progress from getting lazy with my routine. Like brushing your teeth, this product is a life long commitment, so be prepared to fit it into your daily routine.

Pros: I was 36 when I started using this product and was never able to grow anything more than a goatee. It took 7-8 months for my beard to fully connect and I still have one patchy spot after a year of 2x daily use but overall I am happy with my results. Cons: faster hair growth on non application sites, most noticeably on my arms, chest and in my nose Use a some type of moisturizer frequently or the product will cause dandruff-like flaky skin
