Q: Does this have a very strong pine odor?

submitted by dedeMay - 5 years ago
  • A: No--it's more of a wood-shaving smell, and it's pretty mild. It's strongest right when you pour it out of the bag, but it dissipates pretty quickly.

submitted bylifeboatb - 5 years ago
  • A: No. Its the best litter I've ever used

submitted byMicia - 5 years ago
  • A: no --no odor what so ever i have been using this and only this for 11 years it is great

submitted bypatte - 5 years ago
  • A: No this doesn’t have a strong odor at all. The only litter our cat would use. Very good litter.

submitted byKim - 5 years ago

Q: Does this litter track out of the catbox and around house, like the clay litter does?

submitted by TJ - 5 years ago
  • A: At first when the pellets are whole, it will not track. However, if you leave it for a long time whithout replacing ( a week or so), you will begin to see saw dust outside the box.

submitted byJustMe - 5 years ago
  • A: This is the best litter I’ve ever used. As for tracking outside the litter box, I only have to pick up a few pellets each week. Very minimal tracking ( naturally it depends on how full your box is). Cats love it and so do I

submitted byKristyATL - 5 years ago
  • A: Not at all. I love this product and will never use another cat litter. Sometimes a few pellets are kicked out of the box when the cat is scratching, but it is right there by the box and can be picked up and put back in. Best litter ever!

submitted byfrmrhstprof - 5 years ago

Q: Question 2: are these pellets any different than the pine pellets burned in woodstoves, which are 40 lbs for 6-7.00? Thanks!

submitted by TJ - 5 years ago
  • A: “Feline Pine has been put through a special process that removes the volatile pine oil that has been found to harm cats. Some stove pellets still have that oil and they have been found to be harmful!”

submitted byAnimalLover - 5 years ago
  • A: no they actually look like rabbit pellet food but beige i have been using this product for 11 years they also tell you to use this if your cat gets surgery or if someone in your home has allergies the pellets are just made of pine and they become a powder also can flush down toilet --put in garden --no smell --no powdery smoke like the clay cat liters have when you pour it in hope this helps patte

submitted bypatte - 5 years ago

Q: What are the ingredients?

submitted by grateful girl - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi there! The ingredient list for Feline Pine non-clumping litter can be found here: https://churchdwight.com/ingredient-disclosure/pet-care/feline-pine/40002978-40500767-40500678-fp-nonclump.aspx

Q: I have a litter that's similar, I tried scooping the poop out and must of stirred up the urine smell. Do you leave this alone and just completely change out weekly? I've only used clumped litter. HELP

submitted by auntzissy - 5 months ago
  • A: We’re sorry to learn of your experience, auntzissy. Feline Pine Original is made from 100% pine. Sawdust byproduct from lumber mills is collected and compressed into tiny pellets. These pellets act like tiny sponges that absorb urine and break apart into sawdust. You scoop the solid waste daily, and gently shake the box so that the good pellets will float to the top and the sawdust drops to the bottom. Leave the sawdust in the box as it is still working to absorb moisture and odor. When the box is about 90% sawdust it is time to dispose of and start the 1" process all over again. We'd like to make this right if we can. Our team is available to help by phone/text message at 800-833-9532, Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. Please reach out to us directly and we'll be glad to help! Please mention your reference number: 007549723A, when contacting us.

Q: How would you compare this to Breeze litter pellets

submitted by Linda - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi Linda, Feline Pine™ Litter is made of 100% All-Natural Pine for the best natural odor control without added fragrance. It is 100% chemical free and sustainably sourced without cutting down new trees. Feline Pine™ Litter fully absorbs urine, with no dust and no tracking. Breeze litter pellets are made from Mordenite Zeolite, according to their product page. Thank you.

Q: Is the litter Flushable?

submitted by Quesfordeals - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Quesfordeals, Feline Pine Cat Litter and waste should not be flushed or put in drains. We recommend disposing of the solid waste and clumps in the trash in a biodegradable bag. (However, it can be disposed of in a plastic bag, too.) Thanks!

Q: Do cats adjust to this well after using traditional litter?

submitted by Cat - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Cat, Yes they do. Introducing Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter slowly to your cat will assure a successful transition. We recommend the following approach: Pour one inch of Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter into a clean litter box. Next, pour one to two inches of your old litter brand on top. Don’t mix! Your cat will do this naturally as she uses her litter. Next time you change the litter box, use the same amount of Feline Pine, but less of your old litter brand. Repeat for another three to four litter changes, lessening the amount of your old litter each time. Thank you.

Q: is this the kind of litter that works with a sifting litter box? or can i just use a reg litter box? :3

submitted by Marcel - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Marcel, a standard litter box works well with Feline Pine Natural Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter. You do not need to use a sifting litter box system. Thanks.

Love that it doesn't track around the house like clay. Color and length has changed a few times over the years, but still good quality. Had trouble finding it during Covid, had to try another product. Hope never have to do that again. Only want to use Feline Pine.

Super disappointed! Was looking forward to trying a non clay litter. First day seemed great - low tracking compared to clay litter & liquids went through the pine. However, the smell of the solids isn’t covered AT ALL and stinks up the whole house. :(

Love this stuff and so does our kitten. This is what he used when he was at the local animal shelter so when we adopted him we choose to stick with it to keep him happy. It masked the smell of his pee and poo very well. All you smell is pine threw out the house. Easy clean up. When kitty pees in the litter it turns to a sawdust type consistency which isn’t the easiest clean up but even with little bits left in the litter box our kitten doesn’t mind. Over all great product.

It’s environmentally friendly and less odor and that’s all it’s really got going for it. It tracks way worse than the non clumping clay and clumping litters I’ve tried. I’m doing back to clumping clay after this. My cat tries eating it which doesn’t concern me. But he tracks litter all over the apartment. It’s a mess. I’ve found litter in the shower, and in my bed. Cheap sure but not worth it.

Does Not sift well. I tried with a scoop and with the sifting pan. I'll stick with clumping litter. The poop would get stuck to the scoop because there was nothing on it to prevent that like clumping clay liter does

We’ve been using this for years. We love it! Best part—it’s safer for our cat. He doesn’t have clumps of chemicals to lick off his paws with this litter. Yes, it can be a bit messy when our cat throws it outside of the box (we have a low profile one), but it’s nothing in comparison to the other brands. We keep a small broom set close by and sweep up the few stray pellets when we scoop the box. We do have a large mat at the box entrance which helps catch any pellets he walks out with. Yes, you need to scoop all the “powder” since the pine crumbles when wet. We scoop into dog bags once a day.

For the price and what you get it's an awesome deal. All natural and cost-effective. Great if you or your cats have allergies or asthma. No dust, natural scent. Highly recommend. The pellets are meant to get soft after the cat uses the litter box. Just scoop out soiled area and add more pellets once all have dissolved into soft powder texture. Clean out entire litter and replace with all new pellets when the fresh pine scent is no longer present or all pellets are gone in the litter.

Was pleasantly surprised at the odor control of this product. Subtle pine and no ammonia smells. Tracks minimally, maybe within a 3 feet radius of the box. The pellets disintegrate when peed on, I just scoop up the “pee ashes” with a plastic grocery bag. I empty and deep clean the box every month.
