I purchased this shovel about 7 years ago. I'm retired now and use it for a small garden I have. Of course I don't have the receipt after that long, who would? It worked like a mule till the tip of the shovel split. Funny what dirt can do. Anyway, that's why I wouldn't buy another one.

Corrosion
I have had this shovel about 1- 1 1/2 years. I only use it for making hole to plant plants and small gardening projects. Only soil touches the shovel. It had corroded where it was welded by the manufacturer. Very disappointing!! Eventually it will break since it has holes where it has corroded.

Even if a shovel only comes into contact with soil, moisture in the soil can still cause corrosion over time, especially around welded areas. To help maintain your Fiskars Long Handle Digging Shovel and extend its lifespan: Clean after each use: Remove dirt and debris from the blade and handle. Dry thoroughly: Make sure the shovel is completely dry before storing, especially if the soil was wet or damp. Store indoors or covered: Avoid leaving the shovel exposed to rain or snow. Occasional maintenance: A light coat of oil on the metal parts can help protect against moisture and rust. With proper maintenance, if a tool develops corrosion or breaks prematurely under normal use, it may qualify for a replacement under our warranty (warranty@fiskars.com or https://www.fiskars.com/en-us/customer-service/warranties).

No longer worlds greatest shovel!
I bought this to replace another fiskars shovel that finally gave up the ghost after nearly ten years of hard use. Third time I used the new shovel, the point of the spade broke off. By my experience and the other reviews, looks like profit is more important than quality at Fiskars. I doubt I'll get a response from the warranty form.

Not the shovel I thought it would be.
I thought this shovel would be a lifetime shovel and would be built with quality. I was wrong. I have had this shovel for a out 6 months and it broke last week. It literally split in half. Very poor quail metal and very disappointing.

Great until it broke
I bought this shovel a couple years back and really loved it, especially the extremely sharp spade and metal handle. Then the weld broke where the handle meets the spade. I was surprised that it broke. Can I get a little help from customer service please? It's supposed to have a lifetime warranty.

Heavy and not as indestructible as you might think. Keep your receipt handy.
Heavy for a shovel. Seemed good for a while until I was digging out some tough shrubs in my yard and it broke. Fiskars says they need my original receipt for that lifetime warranty which I cannot seem to locate as I bought it in store.

Does what it's supposed to! I like that there's a lifetime warranty, although it seems well-contructed so probably won't need to use it. It's definitely not flimsy-- pretty heavy as far as shovels go. Overall, it's a great shovel, especially for the price point.

I have had this shovel for over 20 years. Used it to landscape on two of my houses. Incredibly durable and the foot platforms are great. Easy to drive into the dirt.
