Used to be great but the new change is awful. Ordered 8 bottles and ALL were essentially dust and unusable. Compared to the other reviews I got off lucky because I never actually ate one since I returned all my bottles.

These never had a particularly great flavor, but they dissolved quickly and weren't too terrible. The last bottle I bought a few weeks ago taste like something has gone very, very wrong. I don't know if I got a bad batch, or what, but I had to spit it out and typically I can choke down anything if it's going to help, especially with a low blood sugar! These aren't edible!!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. 75% of each bottle is pure dust and the glucose tabs are inedible. PLEASE bring back the old formula. I've been buying these for years and the change is beyond disappointing!!

TERRIBLE PRODUCT QUALITY - ZERO STARS

I've been relying on this brand of glucose tablets for years, consistently ordering from Target without any issues. However, the latest batch I received—nine bottles in total—was a huge disappointment. Something has clearly changed, whether it's the manufacturer or the formula itself. Instead of the solid, dependable tablets I’ve come to trust, these are crumbly and chalky, with over half of them reduced to sugar dust. Each bottle contains a noticeable 1-2" layer of sugary powder at the bottom, making them practically unusable. This is a drastic decline in quality, and for a product that is essential for managing blood sugar levels, that’s unacceptable. I’ll be returning these and searching for a more reliable alternative.

Terrible lingering aftertaste

anniesmom - 15 days ago, Verified purchaser
I was sent a bottle with a slightly different label than previous ones so I thought I'd better check it out before ordering more -Am I glad I did. As soon as I opened the paper seal under the cap, there was a very different, strong, strange smell. I tried a small piece... Yuck! It is nothing like the up&up glucose tabs I've taken for years. There's almost a chemical taste. And it doesn't fade but gets worse with time. 2 hrs later and I still can't get rid of the weird taste/smell. I feel like I ate a scented candle. At first I thought I would keep the bottle just for emergency use, but now that this smell has lingered so long, it's making me feel queasy and I don't ever want to even open the bottle again. I'm throwing this away and finding a new brand. (Target's product picture shows the original glucose tabs, but I was sent a bottle with a different label containing tablets that look different and taste terrible. See attached photo of 2 different labels.)

New supplier, huge decline in quality

Target must have changed suppliers. These new ones are horrible! They taste like a fruity chemical and they are incredibly dry and chalky. My bottle has a half inch of glucose tab dust in the bottom. The bottle note also states they are processed in a facility that also handles milk ingredients. The old ones didn’t have that disclaimer. After I get through these I’m switching to the name brand that a different store carries even if I have to pay a couple of more dollars.

Maybe there was a problem with quality control at the plant, but if not & its actually the new flavor, it is terrible. I’ve purchased these for years now and the flavor has been fine. My most recent purchase however, tastes like what I think paint tastes like. I have type 1 diabetes and am a diabetes educator and unless the taste changes back or to something better, I will not recommend these to my patients nor will I purchase these again

These used to be my favorite glucose tablets, but the new formula is beyond bad. The taste is terrible, they are VERY chalky, and I'm pretty sure there's more dust than actual tablets in the container. Getting even one tablet out leaves a giant mess. I'm so disappointed and wish I hadn't bought 4 bottles. Do better Target.

I've bought this brand before, and it used to be comparable to every other glucose tab on the market. The recent bottle I bought was so different I thought I ordered the wrong thing. Chalky, pasty, really gross. I threw it all out. I would not buy this again.

Normally these are great and I've bought them for years. However, I recently bought five of these online. Two were labeled differently and these two weren't edible. They had a different consistency than the others and tasted like cleaning supplies. I couldn't get the horrible taste out of my mouth for hours.

I used these whenever I was low. A few days ago I ran out of tablets at school and when I opened a new container the first thing that hit me was the smell. Then I ate one. It tasted like the smell of a blown out birthday candle, Smokey and food safe wax like at once. I am extremely disappointed in this purchase.

as a Type I diabetic, I have always said that glucose tabs are my comfort food. The last time I ordered these ( maybe a couple of months ago) they were fine. This time I knew something was wrong the minute I opened this bottle. The smell is awful and I spit out the tablet. I would rather faint of hypoglycemia that put another one of these in my mouth. Terrible taste and smell. The packaging looks a little different than last time. I am willing to share photos and lot numbers if needed.

What happened? I have been buying these for years, used to be the best tasting and best value for glucose tablets I could find. The new formula is terrible, smell and taste is awful - don’t waste your money on these. What a bummer!

What the heck did you do, Target?! I've been using these for years, so when I got a couple bottles with new labeling, I just thought they changed the graphic design. Nope. The texture and taste is totally different now. It has a bad smell too. I tried to eat one and had to spit it out! How do you mess up glucose tablets? Lol. Thankfully I had some fruit snacks with me to eat instead. I'm hoping I can return the bottles I bought, they're are so so bad. And clearly I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Just bought a new stock, and wish I hadn’t. Whatever changed between now and February is just wrong. The new ones are too soft and taste wrong. The old ones were a far more pleasant experience. Don’t get me wrong, when I’m having a low, sugar is sugar, but the new ones add an unpleasant feeling to an already sucky situation.
