Here’s some tips to improve video delays: 1. Your camera’s video can be delayed by a slow network connection. 2. Try quitting the Home app or the Nest app and opening it again. If that doesn’t work, you can try restarting your phone or device you’re watching with. 3. The video can be delayed if your camera, phone, tablet or computer is connected to a Wi-Fi extender, which adds extra relay time to any device that’s using it.     mixed feelings

    I own 3 of these. 2 of them have started to drain after the warranty expired. One still going strong. I did purchase again, because I live the compatability off Google products all being on one app. I am now testing the 2 that drain to see if other factors are in play.

    Pretry good

    The doorbell works quite well but the battery isn’t the best. Sometimes in less than a week it needs to be charged. Also, there’s been a problem with guests being unable to hear what is being said to them through the camera.

    Wireless doorbell that's not a doorbell

    The camera is great but we primarily bought this to have an actual doorbell. Fact is, this wireless doorbell does not ring. Mind boggled. The best you can do on this newer version is get one minor beep on your phone as a notification. So we’re missing visitors.

Here’s some tips to make sure you’re getting timely alerts: Enable push notifications: When enabled, you can receive camera alerts as long as you're signed in to the app. Disable away-only notifications: When this is on, you can only receive camera alerts when your home is set to Away mode so you won't be disturbed by notifications when someone is at home. Regarding needing a chime, the Nest Doorbell (Battery) can be wired to connect to your existing system and ring when pressed. If you need help or have more questions, reach out to our support team anytime.

    No wiring!

    We had previously had another nest doorbell and stopped working,so we decided to buy another one. This one is way larger than our old one and it's Battery not wired. So far so good. It also advises you how much charge it has before you need to charge again. Love it.

    Great doorbell camera

    It is so much more durable than the Nest Hello doorbell which we had for several years. Installation was relatively quick and painless. I wish the item description would tell you that with the battery version, you don't have access to 24/7 recording even with a subscription to Nest Aware. Overall, the product seems durable and the clarity is nice.

    Better than average

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The doorbell is well made and has very clear video. Setup could have been easier but I did get it setup eventually. I do like that I can be notified by my Google and Alexa devices when there is activity noted by the doorbell. Time will tell if I am satisfied using the doorbell without a paid subscription.

    cannot see live video and have to wait 10 minutes after i ge

    hard to navigate and cannot open live view. takes forever and keeps saying not available. not sure what good this is if I cannot use it. when i get notifications about someone at the door it tells me video not available yet and take about 10 minutes for me to view it so that doesn't help me at all. If I had not already opened it and mounted it I would return it. Also when it gets below 32 degrees it comes with a warning about draining the battery. what are people suppose to do in the winter ??? Not happy with it at all.

    Horrible battery life

    Battery life is pathetic. I have adjusted the settings every which way to record less and the battery life lasts days (compared to our Ring which lasted months). I wanted to have this to connect to our Google home hub, but not worth the money!
