The directions were very clear and had a QR code for further instructions as well as an instructional video which was very helpful for someone who is not tech savvy, such as myself. This item came to packaged very well, probably the best packaging of an electronic I’ve ever received. This came with everything you needed to mount this in your house, which is perfect. Overall this is a great product and easy to install

Nice camera, but some startup hurdles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera is pretty heavy. It looks good and has great picture quality. Setup was easy, as I already had Google home for my Nest. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is that there did not appear to be any other way to setup the camera in the app without being forced to join a subscription. That was quite frustrating. Back to the camera- it had the capability of being mounted pretty much anywhere., its heavy, so it wont fall over or get knocked over easily if its just standing somewhere. Theres also the ability to mount to a wall via a plate the lightly screws into the bottom of the camera pedestal. That feature is identical to the Nest thermostat pods, which make it very easy to mount. The picture is great, with a wide format. The response is immediate, and picture is very crisp.

The installation process was incredibly simple—just two screws and a quick plug-in using the included adapter or a USB-C connection. The setup instructions were clear, concise, and easy to follow, making the whole process stress-free even for someone who isn’t very tech-savvy. Within minutes, the camera was connected and ready to go. The picture quality is excellent. The video is crisp, detailed, and clear at all times of day, which gives me peace of mind when checking in on my home. The sound quality surprised me too—it’s very clean with no distortion. I also love the wide viewing angle; at over 180°, it covers an impressive amount of space, so I don’t have to worry about blind spots. One of the biggest highlights for me is how seamlessly it integrates with my existing Google Nest Hub. The connection was instant and smooth, and I can easily access live video with just a quick tap or voice command. It adds a great layer of convenience to my daily routine. It’s true that some features sit behind a paywall, and I’ve seen people complain about this. It works off of WiFi the “wired” just means that it has a cord for the charger. It plugs into a regular wall socket but comes with a long cord. It doesn’t lag and the sound works great as well. You have to use the Google Home app for notifications and alerts. The biggest downside is a monthly or yearly fee to keep the recordings past a few hours and to use advanced features. Very nice high quality indoor camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This nest cam by Google home is wired and the third generation. Unboxing this camera. I first noticed that it seems to be very high quality. It was heavy and seems to be made very well. The cord that comes with it to plug it in is about 10 ft long and is skinny enough to be able to be hidden behind furniture. However, if you do want to mount this camera you will need to find a way to hide the wire so it doesn't show. The camera can be mounted to the wall or you can just sit it on a piece of furniture. The camera was very easy to set up. You just plug it in and open the Google home app and set it up from there on your phone. This camera does include audio and video. The camera quality is very good. You can see everything even in lower light and you can speak to people over the camera as well and hear their responses. The camera does provide notifications of movement and can even tell you if it is a person or just movement. I really like this camera and I will get a lot of use out of it inside my home. However, my only complaint is that to use all of its functionality you need to pay for a subscription service through Google.
