Easier in winter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this actually a while back. Maybe a couple years ago. Still going great and helps a lot in the snow. I have auto immune that affects my muscle and joints and living in northern Minnesota this helps a lot in the winter . My back hurts still but not as bad as using a normal shovel yha know. My oldest who is 16 even uses it. I am glad I got it: definitely changes things up

Wanted to like this, but not for me.
Pros: It is easily put together, comes with both batteries and charger. Cons: It is heavy and awkward to handle and use. Shoots snow very high and far. If you have limited space you are going to have difficulty trying to control snow placement.

This snow shovel easily throw snow up to 25' in the desired direction, driven by its powerful brushless motor. Unlike a snow blower, most electric snow shovels do not have a dedicated chute to adjust the throw direction, so you'll need to manipulate the shovel's angle to guide the snow. To direct the angle at which an electric snow shovel throws snow, slightly tilt the shovel itself in the desired direction while operating it; essentially, by angling the shovel slightly left or right, you can control where the snow is ejected. A small tilt is usually enough to redirect the snow slightly to the side you want. We hope this tip helps and provides a better user experience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know that this one is meant to just scoot along the ground but I really think it needs wheels. not sure? It was not very comfortable on my back and I am still trying to figure out how to hold it properly. It is a bit awkward with how the trigger and handle are set up and requires too much bending for me, but it will work fine on our front and rear decks where my snow blower is just too big to use. Also, not having the directional vanes in the deflector to direct the snow to either side really limits where you can use it if you have homes or cars close to each other like we do here. It throws snow a really far distance! It will also break up frozen snow along with small stones or any other debris that be there which is why it would have been better with the directional vanes. This has serious power and is extremely well made! I am sure it will last a very long time!

Frustrating
I have seen another review indicating the issue of this device not working or turning on. I charged the dual batteries completely overnight and have tried on multiple occasions. Very frustrating, especially since the warranty cannot be refunded.

This unit has a safety/lock-out button which needs to be engaged at the same time as the trigger to start the unit. If you are to hold the trigger down without engaging the lock-out button, the unit will not operate. Please take a look at the following video link for a better demonstration. Heavy to carry and hard to Handel
This thing is heavy and it does not like to push well on side walks! It also only plows snow one Direction.

Hello BigJoe46738. We are sorry to hear you are not happy with this machine. The unit does require a fair bit of upper body strength and depending on the condition of the snow it can get more difficult to maneuver. Try only clearing one-third of the width of the unit to lighten to load acting against it. This will help with the load acting against the unit and should hopefully assist in a more enjoyable user experience. Most Snow Shoves are not equipped with a chute, they are a light duty electric snow shovel for walkways, driveways and patios. We do suggest noting, the wind directions, if possible; and move in the same direction as the wind so that the snow is not pushed towards the wind. Directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper. Lastly, adjusting the handle can provide a better balance between the battery and the base. To adjust the balance of the unit, loosen the screws to move the auxiliary handle up and down the shaft till it is comfortable. Efficient tool

I was surprise by the strengh of the machine and the battery last longer then I thought it would, by leaving the power level to 1 (45 min vs 30 min). the tool was able to absorb more then the 6 inches deep.It's easy to change the directional vanes orientation, this is a nice feature to have.The unit is heavier then I thought but still workable and easy to handle if you don't try to lift and leave the weight on the surface. It's still a physical action as shoveling manualy but it has been faster. Very happy with my purchase

Dont waste your time and money.
Went to set it up with batteries fully charged and nothing would turn on. Read the directions several times and did everything it suggested for use. NOTHING. Check out other online reviews as well. People are having the same electrical problems. Ended up using the shovels instead. Will be returned. We paid around $280 for this garbage.

Technique plays a large role in the overall user experience, so we are sure to provide these tips to customers. To start tart the machine. 1. Simultaneously push the safety-lock button and pull the trigger. Please note, users must use TWO (2) fully charged Greenworks 24V battery packs. Do not use battery packs other than Greenworks 24V. Ensure both batteries are charged 100%. If each battery has a different charge state, the run-time of the machine is subject to the lowest powered battery (For example: one battery is charged 100%, and the other is charged 50%, the unit will only run until the 50% battery is depleted). When using TWO (2) batteries with different amp hours (Ah), the machine will run until the lower (Ah) battery is depleted. Hope you find this information is helpful.
