J.K. Rowling is the author of the enduringly popular Harry Potter books. After the idea for Harry Potter came to her on a delayed train journey in 1990, she plotted out and started writing the series of seven books and the first was published as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in the UK in 1997. The series took another ten years to complete, concluding in 2007 with the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
To accompany the series, J.K. Rowling wrote three short companion volumes for charity, Quidditch Through the Agesand Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in aid of Comic Relief and Lumos, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in aid of Lumos. She also collaborated on the writing of a stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which was published as a script book.
Her other books for children include the fairy tale The Ickabog and The Christmas Pig, which were published in 2020 and 2021 respectively and have also been bestsellers. She is also the author of books for adults, including a bestselling crime fiction series.
J.K. Rowling has received many awards and honors for her writing. She also supports a number of causes through her charitable trust Volant and is the founder of the children's charity Lumos.

This is a perfect way to get all of the books at the same time and a very nice additional holder for them. Especially if you plan on having this on display in your living room or something. The box of course is very heavy but everything came in Perfect condition especially the books.

The vendor Target is using needs to be banned. I ran into this seller on Amaz** and was also stiffed. I ordered specifically from Target because I trusted them. They need to remove this from inventory or fix the listing. This is false advertisement. We received and opened and used box set with the stickers missing from the box. Someone has written all over the books. Luckily it was in pencil. I spent hours erasing the marks and making the books look better. One of the books also has water damage. The other reviews aren’t lying. This vendor is dishonest and Target shouldn’t be giving them a platform.

Ive had this exact book set before and this time it came without the plastic sealing the books once you open the chest and the chest had damage on the top...quit trying to sell used and damaged product at retail price.

It's a nice affordable set when you break down the cost for each book and the cardboard treasure chest. However, my 8yo and 10yo sons want the hardbacks with illustrations in them. So, I'll hafta return these and purchase illustrated books individually.

These are high quality edition books in a trim and fun little suitcase. I think it's charming. If you think about it, $150 for seven books puts each book at just over $20. And then you add the attractive, eye-catching packaging, and it's a good deal for the set. Mine arrived well packaged and was undamaged when extracting from the box. Target took care of this shipment. I disagree with the other reviewer in that what would you have the suitcase constructed of? Wood? Do you realize how much more expensive this would be? Maybe $300? And then if you wanted to stow this on a bookshelf for others to see, the case would scratch the shelf up by scraping over it. I say if you prefer a wooden suitcase, construct one yourself. This is affordable and a fair price.
