Q: How do I know if I have the new formula or the ole formula? Will the box specifically say new formula?
submitted by Lana - 5 months ago
A: Hey Lana. We’ve recently introduced a New & Improved Rescue Balm + Red Correct that brings back the fuller coverage and more matte finish many of you have been asking for, while still helping to soothe post-blemish dryness.
It’s starting to roll out now, so you may begin seeing the updated version in market. Look for “New & Improved Formula” on the pack.

Q: Should you put your sunscreen on before or after this product
submitted by Kendra - 7 months ago
A: Hey Kendra! Apply Rescue Balm Red Correct first, let it absorb, and then follow with sunscreen. Sunscreen goes on last to protect your skin while letting the balm do its calming work underneath. 🌞✨

Q: Online it states that this product is cruelty free. Why doesn’t it have the certification if it is?
submitted by Jen - 1 year ago
A: Hero Cosmetics is fully committed to ensuring and protecting animal welfare. We use only materials already known to be safe. It is our policy not to test on animals, and we also request that suppliers not test any materials or products on animals.
The Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm Red Correct has garnered mixed feedback from guests, particularly regarding its reformulation. While many appreciate the improved coverage and matte finish, others miss the original formula's effectiveness in color correction. Guests highlight its ability to blend well under makeup and provide a natural look, making it suitable for daily use. However, concerns about the new color and texture persist, with some finding it less effective for their specific skin tones.

Not very effective.
I have mild rosacea and I don't feel like this product is very effective at covering/reducing redness. It's not enough coverage on it's own, but when I put foundation or concealer over it it seems like it kind of blends away? The texture is fine but it just doesn't really make much of a difference, so I wouldn't buy it again.

I am a HUGE lover of the original formula. Just bought the latest reformulation and it seems like they fixed the texture issues - feels the same as the original. However, the color is crazy!! It used to blend seamlessly into my light neutral skin tone and was maybe even a little on the light side. The new one turns into a dark red/maroon color which is so counterproductive to what this product should be doing! Blurs red marks a bit but looks like I’ve just rubbed blush on my face so I have to go in and cover it with concealer any way?? This needs to go back to the original formula stat

Bring back the old formula
I’ve been using this product many days a week for years and I was able to deal with the first “improved formula”, but now it does not blend. Goes on pale green and dries white where it used to blend with my skin tone. There’s also a lot of separation that I never experienced before. Kind of a disappointment as it was a staple. I hope hearts and minds can be changed and we get the old formula back.

Not as good as the OG formula from korea
I was hesitant to tet this after being disappointed when they changed the formula last time. I still had some of the OG formula, made in korea. I'm not sure what separation issues it had, I never had that issue. It covered the redness well, blended into skin perfectly, went under makeup well, and would be worn alone. This new and improved formula, for comparison covered the redness and is not sticky, however it leaves my skin very orange so it cannot be worn alone. It also does not go under makeup well. So, I am once again disappointed. I wish they'd listen to their customers and return to the original formula.

Better than the previous "improved" formula
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product had been a godsend to my skincare and a daily matte complexion fixing tool- often concealing redness without needing coverup, and a perfect formula for years before it was reformulated sometime last year/2025- the new formula was oily, didn't cover redness at all for me and terrible- backlash by consumers was at least was acknowledged. This newest reformulation is better than the oily one but nowhere near the original formula- at least it covers, is more matteish in finishing but shows some separation - hard to describe but where the original would blend completely to cover red areas with the surrounding skin (even on my fingertip with applying), the newest leaves little bits of color/not entirely blended so is a bit harder to apply. Why can't companies just stick with a product that is selling instead of trying to "improve" it? Aiming to be more "moisturizing" made it oily- the correction to the miscorrection is still missing something. . . :-/

An Improvement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im going to start off by saying it’s not the same as the original formula. However, it has improved from the previous formula. It still feels a bit oily but I don’t mind it. I think it looks a little more patchy on me but that might just be because I’m low on setting spray. I wish Hero would go back to manufacturing in South Korea because that was my favorite formula. This new one actually conceals my redness. Overall it is good coverage, nice pigment, and an improvement.

Wonderful
I like the coverage and matte finish of the new improved Hero Cosmetic Rescue Balm + Red Correct! I did see a difference when applying the balm to the red areas of my face! However, I do think the balm is a bit thick and tacky when it dries. I think it would be better to use in the winter, but in the summer it makes my face feel tacky and extra sticky. Overall, I like the coverage and it is easy to rub into the skin. And I think the price point is affordable! I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own. #ad

Worth trying
I'm a huge fan of the original Rescue Balm so I was looking forward to trying this Red Correct version. I found that the product works the same as the original Rescue Balm. However, this may be more beneficial for people of color like me because of the tint that it has. Overall I recommend this for people who get frequent pimples and need help recovering from the pimples. ** I received this product as a sample. **

It’s back and better
I’m so happy they made the original formula again and even better. It covers my redness even more now and I love that price is lower now. Love the new cute matte packaging too. It’s perfect for summer to get rid of my redness without having to wear foundation. The summer I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own. #ad

Bring the old formulation back!
Why try fixing what isn’t broken?! It went from a rich creamy great coverage formulation to a watery too translucent mess. Super disappointing.

Wanted More Redness Coverage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like the updated Rescue Balm + Red Correct, but I didn't see the level of redness correction I was expecting. It felt nice on my skin and blended easily, but my redness was still visible after application. It may work better for others depending on their skin, but it just didn't provide enough color correction for me. #ad

Disappointed
I loved the old version of this. Now it doesn't cover as well and leaves my face oily & sticky and I don't have oily skin. I think they put way too much oil in it. It doesn't have a matte feel anymore.

New Formula is Horrendous
This used to be a product I used several times a week and repurchased steadily. The new formula is horrible, though. The product is greasy and does not blend or cover up any redness. I won’t be repurchasing unless Hero Cosmetics goes back to the previous formula.

Love this!
This product does an amazing job of hiding redness from pimples without feeling oily on my skin. I have found that sometimes it oxidizes a little, but I’ve found using a setting powder over it fixes that (it’s not very noticeable even if you don’t).
