Amazing Product
After the patches, this and maybe the sunscreen are the best products I’ve tried from Hero. Azelaic acid and salicylic acid together with targeted use is genius. The oil-soluble salicylic acid deeply penetrates pores to dissolve sebum and cellular debris, while surface-level azelaic acid simultaneously inhibits acne-causing bacteria and suppresses tyrosinase activity to mitigate post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. By keeping it targeted you don’t have to worry about aggressive, oil-stripping effects anywhere but on the pimple. The pen lets you use the active ingredients to rapidly dry out the pimple while preserving the surrounding healthy skin barrier from dehydration and irritation. Brilliant!

Does not dispense (pump)
I don't typically buy a product like this so it felt like a splurge honestly (even though it's not that expensive). I see that there are tons of videos online about how to get the product out but it is not working. On the website I see it says twist so maybe the product has been updated since my date of purchase of 12/31. Would not purchase and can't comment on the product as have not been able to get it out of the pen to try it.

The pen has changed recently, and I’m not sure if I like it as much as the original. Also, I would like it if the product was offered in more strengths, as my skin might have acclimated to the product, and I need something a little stronger.

Love ! but new packaging
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i love this product. i use it all the time for new forming pimples, genuinely put everyone on. I know the previous packaging was very finiscky, but once it got going there was no issues! with this new packaging i do feel it leaks a bit easier? or more so, the twist feature is twisting while it’s in my bag. i do travel with this and apply it throughout the day on an angry pimple lol. I do appreciate trying to change the packaging as it would be difficult to open.

Love it
The twist up pen makes it super easy to just tap it right on the spot. I like that it doesn’t have fragrance or anything harsh. The formula feels strong but not crazy intense. When I put it on a bumpy pimple, it helped calm it down and stopped it from turning into something bigger.

Effective Formula, Frustrating Bottle
I have been using this product for a couple of years now and it has worked well for keeping my skin clear. However over the last 6 months I have purchased 3 bottles and have had to battle with the bottle to get the product out. At first I thought it was a one off experience but now that it is my third time having to take apart the whole plastic bottle to get to the product Im worried that the manufacturing of the bottle is faulty. The product is effective, priced fairly, and used to be easy to apply. I love that the design of the bottle ensures that minimal air reaches the product so it doesn't dry out or deteriorate, and that I don't have to use my hands to apply, but all that doesn't matter if I have to disassemble the whole system to get to the gel.

Great for a product-break out!
I was influenced and bought a lavender-tallow and broke out in acne! I stopped using everything except for my mild cleanser, then a thin layer of this all over, and my oil free moisturizer. . and within 2 days my skin looks so much better. No irritation either!

My favorite treatment!

I really like it
My face broke out really bad, for three weeks I was dealing with small whiteheads and dry patches from big pimples that popped. All of these areas were super red. I was getting embarrassed because I don’t wear any foundation or concealer because I normally don’t break out this bad. Pimple patches and other things did not work. I used this for the first time last night before I fell asleep. I woke up and my big dry patches lessened by a ton and look almost fully healed. I love this stuff already!
